Costs £102.98 + £22 for Gordon browns tip

Not wishing to sound like an anorak mr MD but on the way to Spain flying with Easyjet you were on a nice reasonably modern A319 which first started flying around Aug 95.
On the return with Globespan you were on an old 737-300 which started flying around Feb 84. I also remember the noise the nearside brakes made. I felt compelled to jump out and replace the disc and pads before take off. Also the clutch seemed suspect, the pilot nearly stalled it and when he went from third to fourth gear I heard a terrible clunking noise, think the selector fork was bent or something.

it was globespan that slid off th runway at lanzarote last month, stopping just short of the sea

Globespan!

Booked with Globespan - same flight(s) Stuart, I'm supposed to be in Vegas that week I've just found out, Almeria is clearly more important! :lol2:

yeah, see that's the thing about Globespan they get you there without having to go through passport control or collect baggage - it's that extra customer service that I like....

Indeed it is... now turns out that JEREZ is April, might be worth doing that and leave the bikes over there for Almeria. Seems to be about 6 doing that now ???? I would need to make sure that we're 100% sorted at work first.

Did that last year buzz, went to track at Sea of Tranquility - it wasn't very good, no atmosphere at all... :D :D :D Alermia is much better

Can't do Almeria (wife's off to Rome with her girlie pals the same week) could be up for Jerez though, whats happend to that thread ?

Jerez went off the boil a bit in favour of Almeria Kenny. That said, dates and prices are confirmed for April. We're looking at the possibility of doing Jerez then leaving the bikes over there for Almeria in May. My concern with that is battery - a Duc left for 4-6 weeks is likely to protest.

I had the D16RR on the opti and decided to take it out on Saturday - the bitch was going NO WHERE

Let's see how many are up for Jerez, it's the usual story, get the numbers for a Scottish collection and it's so much easier. I'm IN for Jerez and Almeria.

WHO ELSE ??

I was in......

...until I foolishy checked and I am taking my wife away for her 40th. On the other hand I'm having a word with her for being so selfish as to have a birthday that interferes with really important meetings......

You're getting very close to being branded a WIMP.. first Almeria 08, now Almeria 09... mmmmm, maybe it's becuase you can't handle the power and prestige that a Ducati brings and look for the merest excuse :D :D :D :D

I really don't think his wife's 40th birthday is a 'mere excuse'. After all he does want to be able to continue riding his bikes and that might be difficult with two broken legs. :D ;) :D

Mary, you're a "wife", would you not have appreciated a trip to Almeria as a 40th Birthday.

S'cuse me, also, our Gordon needs a talking to for not realising it was his wife's 40th in the FIRST PLACE.... shame on you !!!

What's a 40 year old doing with a 60 year old bloke anyway  :D :D

Yes I would have loved a trip like that for my 40th but not all female partners have the same taste as me, thank goodness I hear you say.:D

How many female partners have Ducatis in the house on a permanent basis and get just as jumpy as the males when they can't get out on their bike.:comp2:

I know there are some but they tend to be few and far between.

"few and far between" equals being unique

Clarification.....

.....I am going to Almeria - it's the Jerez trip in April I can't go to, I thought you were asking about Jerez. There is absolutely no way my wife is going to interfere with my trip to Almeria in May - unless she tells me otherwise!

The fact that she can't go pillion on the Desmo is just the way it is!

Almeria is on for MAY - and I woud not use the word WIMP without first thinking of pot calling kettle black. I distinctly remember you saying that you like the idea of the Streetfighter but Bobby might smack you (except you like a smacking apparently) if you buy anymore bikes! :D

Broken Legs...

Mary, the broken legs would not be the worst thing but then again we've had the children, no need for anymore!

but Bobby might smack you (except you like a smacking apparently) if you buy anymore bikes! :D

Right you... get your facts right :D :D :D It's BOBBIE, with an IE which is derived from Roberta... Bobby is Y and derived from Robert. You tell folks on the forum that BOBBY might smack me they'll think I'm batting for the other side.... know what I mean chap :D :D :D

Besides that, if you recall (Martin will confirm), I bought the 1098R INSTEAD of the D16RR, but just as I took delivery of the 1098R my D16RR delivery was announced.... oh dear. I was going to cancel, but downstairs was another (I believe that might have been Freaks).... sitting there in it's carbon fibre glory. I was gutted.... then BOBBIE chips in, it's a one off - you're as well taking it.... yee ha.... The intnetion was to sell the 1098R, but of course the credit crunch came along and prevented that  ;) gutted I was gutted, it meant keeping a 1098R as a track bike  ;) gutted

Hi am a newbie on here so drinks on me...........!!

Have booked for almeria in may as well, heading down with stevie, junior and kenny who is on a jap thingy........!!!

Looking forward to it

Well fergie that depends..... hope there is only one of me!!

Where do you think you know me from????

Almeria Trip - Track Bodywork

Just took delivery of set of track bodywork for Almeria - I decided to order from World of QB carbon and early signs are that it is far superior in terms of fit and overall quality than stuff I've bought previously from various sources.

One panel (left hand fairing) had a small crack picked up in transit, just where it wraps around nose cone, and this was replaced without any hassle - and I was told to keep the cracked one as a spare.

At mo, I'm not going to bother with painting prior to Almeria as its pre-coloured - and I'll probably crash anyway !!!:lol2:

Looks like an interesting track from what I can see on Youtube ?

Cheers
Ronnie

Its getting very close all of a sudden!

Perhaps now the time to suggest a wee meeting night in Gambrino?

All those in favour let me know by PM or something and we'll get a date sorted.

Ronnie,

You'll love it.... I have to be honest when I did Almeria last year it freaked me. There was a really slow rider and during the siting laps there's a strict no overtaking rule... this meant the guys at the back lost the instructor and therfore the correct line. When the hammer went down it was an eye opener.... I absolutely HATED it, at the end of day one I had grasped it and come day 2/3 LOVED IT. It's not a patch on Jerez, but is VERY technical. The blind UP HILL left hander leading to the chicane is AWESOME. You know you have plenty of time for braking, but can you go up over the blind hill FULL GAS... I chickened EVERY time.... This time the b1tch is gettin' it.
