If it's not been run then as long as it was decomissioned properly there's not reason why you can't throw fluids in it and fire it up once recommissioned.
If it was dealer recomissioned I'd find out who and give them a buz as they'll be able to tell you what was done to it.
If it's just been parked up for ten years then I'd be inclined to check belts unless you know when they were done - just incase it's wearing twenty year old belts.
Replace all fluids as a matter of course.
Check fuel tank and replace filter and remove old fuel if any is still in there - if it's got a crappy race filler cap then definitely drain and replace the fuel as they're shit and allow air to bleed quite badly. You'll easily tell as it wont smell of petrol, but similar to a mix of turps and cooking oil.
If this is what it smells like then don't whatever you do start it up as it will pump all that poo through the fuel system and injectors.
Probably worth putting some cheap oil in there just to run it up and then dump it - a bit of a waste but it acts as a far more efficient engine flush as well.
Like anything that's stood for a long time, it'll be seals and wubbewy stuff that dries out and crack, so just go round and check the condition of all of that gumf.
Likewise rubber bits tend to fade and deteriorate visually, so be prepared to show them a wee bit of love as needed.
Other than that it's not like you're buying a 200k miles old shitter that hasn't moved from under an overgrown privet hedge on someone's drive in over ten years so I wouldn't go losing too much sleep over it.
I mean lets face it... if you'd have talked yourself into what is clearly a shit pile 1098 that's got shitheap written all over it, but hey, what sort of Guinness would get suckered into that sort of bottomless pit of misery.
