Okey dokey, having had a play here's what I've got :
The 1098 Axle fits but the four pins on the mounting hub flange are too wide to locate into the retaining holes. 101pcd?
The early 916 axle I have with the 85mm PCD mounting pins is too small a diameter but the mounting pins locate.

So doing some interwibbling and proper eyeballing, I have a horrible feeling that the wheel is a 16.5" 5.75 wide rim.
Looking at a picture of a racebike axle, the stub axle is pretty massive vs regular 916, but the drive pins seem to tally up on the width and tight distance from the stub, in the image at least.
A cheap and cheerful ebay wheel for someone then I reckons.

This would be the tom that never answered my calls or emails, texts or anything else all the other times I needed stuff answered, and who knowing that I was wanting to buy one of his 999RS arms went and sold it to someone else?
I've never even met the bloke apart from speaking to him once Bettes, so as much as I'd love to, I think I've got more chance of winning the euro millions triple rollover, and I think on his part he'd rather shit into his hands and clap.
