I believe a burnout in the livingroom is obligatory!

Congratulations mate - I think it's quite a pleasant motorcycle ;)

And for the record, is it worth it?

I got a sneak preview of some of these the other day!!! ;) :p

Your lounge temperature is rather warm 22 deg. blimey!

It is truely druelworthy. :)

very nice, still ain't seen one in the carbon yet.... still say it needs white wheels ;)

question: why is it called D16?

hmmm I don't think Claire would appreciate me starting it up let alone doing a burnout in the house do you?

As for being worth it.... Yes definitely, I've managed an hour or so riding it but even that made me realise just how special this bike is, and its in the house so I can savour every moment just pouring over the attention to detail

Well I never...Well I would really...;)

Congratualtions Jon ya chatty so & so!

So when you popping down to give us a shot then;)

Nice pics by the way, a hidden talent I'd say mate..

Padge

...what he hasn't told anyone though is that he made poor Claire ride home in terrible weather weather because her bike just didn't cut it sat in the van next to the D16!!!!! ;) :p

I gotta say that its been commented on more than one occasion that I post lots of pictures of my bike on this forum. Well I think that things like this - we just can't get enough of. Sharing with other forum members our pride and joys, the things that we are extremely proud of, things we worked hard for. So Keep them coming!!! :)

ed, that's exactly what I thought, maybe everyone should just add their own to this thread and keep it going rather than having random threads all over the place?

Great pics Jon - and I reckon IN the house is the best place to keep it too

happy new bike mister and safe riding :)

I was going to post a sarky comment about you spoiling this thread with a photo of that 'old nail'

but I thought better of it:rolleyes:

Back at yer....

it's gone, it's getting embarrassing even for me!:o

It's filth!

Oh indeed it is, but just wait until it's run in... HARDCORE man, HARCORE. I have NEVER driven anything like it.... at 6000/7000 it sounds awesome, but it's a caged animal.... roll it up to 8000, and the beast is ready - crack it quickly from 4000 - 12-13,000 and just hold on. On a (private) road that will remain nameless, 165mph at the easiest twist, I believe Mike has topped that by 20mph (or was it just 20mph :D ) on the same road. Everybody asks me WAS IT WORTH IT, the honest answer is NO, it's NOT - it's £10,000 too cheap !!! Martin ignore that last bit mate.

Its nice to hear that they are being used, most of these kind of real race replicas end up in private collections with zero miles on the clock and after 10 years all the rubber bits need replacing coz they're perished!!! :)
Good on yer oh ye Desmo16 owners!!

...wondering when I'm gonna get a go on one, lets face it; I'm a very safe, compitent and very experienced rider - even if I can't spell it!!! :)

It is gorgeous mate, nice pics aswell :) just have to giggle at that footpeg shot though, memories of us hacksawing at the ones on my racebike at Brands, seems you got the hang of it - very neat finish ;)
