The proposition that the consensus of climate scientists regarding man made climate change is a conspiracy of self interest is laughable.
The minority that deny the existence of man made climate change are just the detritus in what has been established.
Climate Science is most certainly not dominated by meta-analysis with a pre-determined agenda. Rather, it rests in the orthodox tradition of rational science.
Instead of reading what journo's turn out with a rhetorical flush, read an example (you lot will be too lazy) of peer-reviewed, thoroughly referenced climate science. If you give it a go but find yourself well out of your depth, you are in the same position I referred to above of the layman trying to challenge a Mathematical journal article.
You (nor I) am in any position to challenge Science duly practised coming to the irresistible conclusion that humanity has and will continue to impact the climate globally.
Enjoy the Article, insofar as you can understand it.

Why does ice melting not change the water level in a container?
I have read the explanation for this in several textbooks, but I am struggling to understand it via Archimedes' principle. If someone can clarify with a diagram or something so I can understand or aphysics.stackexchange.com
“Melting icebergs boost sea level rise, because the water they contain is not salty.
Although most of the contributions to sea-level rise come from water and ice moving from land into the ocean, it turns out that the melting of floating ice causes a small amount of sea-level rise, too.
Fresh water, of which icebergs are made, is less dense than salty sea water. So while the amount of sea water displaced by the iceberg is equal to its weight, the melted fresh water will take up a slightly larger volume than the displaced salt water. This results in a small increase in the water level.
Globally, it doesn’t sound like much – just 0.049 millimetres per year – but if all the sea ice currently bobbing on the oceans were to melt, it could raise sea level by 4 to 6 centimeters.‘“
Perhaps the science has changed, can that happen ?

Oh Christ. Too easy. And pass it on to the New Zealander with a lobotomy (not that giving Kiwis a lobotomy affects their eminent stupidity much).
PolitiFact - This viral photo of ice melting in a cup misrepresents icebergs and sea level rise
Physics is different now because ‘PolitiFact’ say so ?
The article you linked contradicts itself anyway, as it says icebergs form on land then raise the sea level when they move into the sea. It then says a fairer comparison would be to suspend an ice cube over a full cup of water and let it melt into it. Different things.
The Physics article, if you read it, does say that ice bergs raise the sea level as they form from fresh water rather than salt water, but not by much.
It also says that if all the ice bergs in the sea melted it would raise the level by about 4-6cm.
Has physics changed in the last 10 years ?
It really won’t make much of a difference to the oceans if the ice melts
it’s only 1.74% of the planets total water

Leave the poor RR drivers aloneI’m doing the planet a service by pointing it out
after all it’s more important to tax the poorest people to clean the air, so the rich can drive range rovers sorry I meant save lives
My dad's mother was institutionalized a couple of weeks after he was born in 1949 she was 30 years old... The good American doctors used to come to Ireland to do experiments not permitted in the states.. My grandmother was labotomized on the basis the doctor could go in through her nose and basically destroy the part of the brain causing post natal depression.. She spent the next 66 years in a mental institution with no memory's new or old being created or remembered, she lasted till 96 years old a life destroyed because don't question sceinceLobotomy - at one time the cutting edge of medical science. If you lived back them you'd be all over it wouldn't you.
Funny how science changes once it's challenged isn't it.
Sorry but no chance, I can’t afford oneLeave the poor RR drivers alone![]()

Sadly it was common at the time.. My Nan passed when my dad was 66.. I remember being at her funeral and a priest who said her mass pointing out that she was in the same institute 35 years and 31 years in the previous one nuts really.. We never knew her and she never knew us as every time we visited she would have no recollection of us.. My dad would explain he was her son and she would say I have my son here with me.. She carried a soft bunny toy the 66 year's till her death.. The staff would replace it after it would get damaged or tired.. Her life story was absolutely tragic! That is absolutely appalling! It gives a clue as to why you are so awake.

He was old Skool he would never let you know how hard he struggled with thatThat's tragic. I wonder how many other lives that doctor ruined.
Very sad. It must've been a burden on your dad knowing it was done for post natal depression.

My Nan was the latter fortunately she seemed calm and child like and oblivious to the world around her but considering she was admitted for something as innocent as post natal depression it's heartbreaking really, looking at pictures of a vibrant 30 year old to then spending 66 years in care seems bizarre in modern context.I worked as a security guard for a year at a mental health institution after I graduated from high school.
There was a little old man that wandered the campus with a smile on his face saying hi to everyone. He said nothing else. I was told he had murdered family members as a young man. Doctors performed a lobotomy turning him into a childlike harmless ward of the state.
There also was a woman that would wander around sobbing. I helped escort her to the onsite medical clinic one day where she had shock therapy done. The next time I saw her she was as happy as could be.
It was a very interesting place to work.
