anyway, Tell me about Rum

I have recently been given a cocktail book, no not that sort of cocktail book but one about alcohol :confused:

err yeah Rum and in particular dark rum the cocktail book of absolute law says it should be taken neat as a digestifs

( I should perhaps note here the author of said book seems to have some sort of hatred of cola)

now I did eat some food at some point today so I am clearly settling my stomach, I would just like to canvas opinion about such things as drinking rum straight or as a bit of a girly drink diluted with cola

there was just something in the back of my mind that this would be the place to ask such things

(uh stuck with Morgan's spiced for tonight)

try some barbados Mount Gay Special Reserve , its a wee bit dearer,but really nice
i tried it in barbados last year,its excellent

straight with a few big dods of ice,
i hope you enjoy, mm think i'll get some this afternoon
in fact i've got some in the cupboard, yes.

Tricky to get............ maybe Forces or Offshore could help.
Take it neat and you'll get drunk from the legs up...Honestly. Then hydrate with water later on and it kicks back in.
The best 2 for 1 I know of! :watchout:

or for full wellie Wray b& Nephew's Overproof Rum at 134 proof :eek:
- it's a white rum though.
 
hummm i feel that several premium dark rums have been mentioned that without a doubt deserve more reverance than the (for want of a better word) mass produced and heavily advertised Drinks that are sold at a knock down price

would you treat the like of morangs spice (possibly the cheapest available yet without being ASDA smart price) as a drink to have straight ~:?

as the only multibranded alcohol in the collection being Gin, the difference of my limited pallete between gordens and plymouth is vast

ps im useing star shaped ice cubes
