I rode my mates 749s through Ayr ( murder on ma auld neck and wrists ) out onto some nice unknown roads down the coast and it was brilliant ! Quick and handled like it was on rails.........30miles later " hoi...geez ma bike back " ah that's better :D

......and after that experience you saying you would outrun it with 1100 Monster? Maybe :rolleyes:

aye, it wisne designed to be comfortable, just win races, which it did, more than any other Ducati!

Honestly. ?.....on the open roads without speed limits.........no lol
Realistically on our roads and being respectable YES
As I said to my mate, " I'd love one of those but I'd only use it on the track cause by the time you're flowing with it you're already on a 30 day ban " if caught !

I see, that video's all regular, respectful and within the law; you were only stretching 3rd (slow 3rd gear that, imo) in overtaking and little bit of fourth after, right? I guess what you meant to say on track you would outrun it no bother? I would love to put your 749 vs 1100 Monster theory to test (and bed), on track, anytime, anywhere. If this was sale advert it would end with "no tyre kickers or dreamers need applying or replaying"

Only goes as fast as you twist a throttle man. I kinda wanted bike that doesn't hurt me as much; otherwise I can't think of better bike. Newer ducati superbikes (imo) just missed a board all together

Ok....what I meant was, erse up heid doon riding style and sportbike that doesn't come in to its own until your riding at 90mph+ doesn't interest me for everyday bike. Thats why I bought the monster, I could have bought a 796 but why would you when there's the 1100 :)
 
I was after a S4rs and missed a mint one. The more I looked though I preferred the air cooled with the lack of plumbing.

Must admit, a M900 is on the cards to restore if I ever get my garage extended
