Ducati ads

[miloVanMultistrada]

A few Ducati ads from around the world here http://news.motorbiker.org/blogs.nsf/dx/17-ducati-motorcycle-ads-from-around-the-world.htm

My favourites:

[Glawster]

Remember this one - from less politically correct days. I recall there was a whole series of them for various Ducatis and Guzzis of the day. Look at the prices....and weep!

[miloVanMultistrada]

£2,499 in 1974 is £22,064 in 2012 money!

(see: http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/education/Pages/inflation/calculator/flash/default.aspx)

Makes today's Ducati prices almost look like a bargain

1974? You been drinking?

1974? You been drinking?

Yes! Half way through a very nice bottle of red.

Putting in 1978 shows in no uncertain terms what the early 70s were like for inflation, the result being paltry £12,141 of 2012 money.

Like these old time ads, thanks for sharing. Anyone have any others they could post ?

[DrD]

I have a load of them somewhere, here is the 860 one:

[Glawster]

This one doesn't really set the pulse racing does she? (I don't mean the bike..)

[Glawster]

Blimey, it's Barbarella!

[Glawster]

Crikey it's the Lone Ranger, on an unfeasibly large horse - either that or those narrow cases were unusually compact machines...

Another Coburn & Hughes classic!.

Oh yeah! I remember THAT one alright. Used to have it on my wall. May even have sat on that very bike.

[RobbieT]

is it just me or is anyone else thinking "classsic" calendar for one year as a possibility?
