Have fancied one of these for a while. (T1/T2/T3)
Bonhams had one at Stafford last year in a 50's style bicycle.
When they come up it seems to be implied that the bike is a Ducati and I wonder how many people buy them not realising it is an engine they have.
As I understand it, you bought the kit (motor, tank etc) and fitted it to your favourite bike.
Prices seem out of proportion to the early bikes and I wonder how you can value just a motor or is the bicycle rare as well?

This bike was on the DOC stand at the Stafford show.

The guy who owns it also has a racer version with an ear splitting megaphone exhaust. The race bike doe 65mph plus!

You've all probably heard of 'push rod' engines. Well these are all 'pull rods'.

I have also seen one for sale recently in a MTB frame

I suppose this shows that almost from day one Ducati set their stall out as a racing biased manufacturer. The T2 Sport was a "performance" motor used for racing.:)
Probably thousands of these motors lying around in corners of sheds all over Europe.

A lot of people don't realise that Ducati started of as an electrical comany and to this day they still make 'starter capacitors for electric motors
