First reviews of the Scrambler ...

Interesting wee nugget in the Motorcycle.com review...

"It should be noted that the pre-production test bikes ridden at the intro were all built at Ducati’s main plant in Bologna, though production models slated to come to the States will be manufactured in Ducati’s Thailand facility."

Some of the potential US buyers are a bit cheesed off about that, although the Thai quality quality control may well be better than the Bolognese. But they think a Ducati isn't a Ducati if it's not "Made in Italy"

seems to be the way of things, satellite factories but i really would not consider a duc from anywhere but italia .its not like it's a cheap marque
still not in luv with the scrambler
maybe i need a free loan for a weekend hint hint

Is it just me that thinks it is a bit on the small side..... ???

Maybe in the flesh it will look ok, hope so for anyone that has put down a deposit!:)

It is small compared with modern bikes which tend to be on the tall side but it compares very favourably with classic bikes of the 50's and 60's.

The Scrambler has a dry weight of 176.5kg (389lbs), seat height is 31.1" (790mm) and a wheel base of 1445mm (56.9")
BSA Gold Star : dry weight of 172.4kg (38Olbs), seat height is 30.5" (775mm) and a wheel base of 1440mm (56")
Triumph Bonneville T120; dry weight of 165kg (363lbs), seat height is 30.5" (775mm) and a wheel base of 1396mm (55")
Norton Commando : dry weight of 190kg (420lbs), seat height is 33" (840mm) and a wheel base of 1441.5mm (56.75"
Honda CB750 Four : dry weight of 218kg (481lbs), seat height is 31" (790mm) and a wheel base of 1460mm (57.75")

I grew up with these sort of bikes and I think the Scrambler would fit me very well.

yes, as i mentionned in the other thread, for me its the shape of the seat that causes a problem as it forces you downhill into the back of the tank, which is also narrow... i can ride t'other halfs bonneville ok and the Darmah has the same seat height...
