Personally I think they need to be introduced, here anyway, can’t vouch for France although no-one I know would buy a used bike from France for the very reason they don’t have annual inspections and are, like a lot of bikes here, unroadworthy.
Our set up aint too bad to be fair. I would hate to see us align with the German system or anything similar however, as it just turns into a bureaucratic clusterf*uck every 12 months. They even go down the tyre size/type rabbit hole on classic machines that can no longer get original spec rubber.
Who is to say what level of balls the French are actually proposing to implement.
