Right its project tome again for my 800ss, the CB500 racer is nearly fully developed and just needs me to loose some weight and get my eye in to be competitive.......... err working on that bit.

To recap bought the 800 in 2009 and turned it in to this;

Then retired and spent 5 years half heatedly turning the bike into this

So, being honest I wasn't really into riding on the road and circumstance conspired against me for a few years with respect to track riding, thought about selling the Ducati etc but never actually wanted too. Life is better / clearer now so turning the 800 back into a track bike.

The bikes only ever appearance as a road bike in my keep was on the SDC stand at the 2016 Scottish bike show, its now stripped back ready to be converted into a race bike again.

I sold the 1098 fairing when I quit racing, so the plan is now to do something different. I'm thinking Desmosedici / Moto 2 style - I've managed to fit inappropriate fairings on the wrong bikes before so why stop now?

Here's what I've found so far but if anyone has alternatives I also really want to see them, UK sourced is good for spares when I bin............

First up, BB Plastics Moto 2 fairing which they make for SV 650's

Good points, UK based relatively good value
Bad points might look like an SV!

Next up, Motoforza

Their Suter kit has been grafted on to lots of ER6 super twins

Upside, looks good
Downside, noUK support and more expensive

Next, a Desmosedici kit for a 999, great idea and designed with the width of a twin taken into account

Downside way to expensive for me :(

So, any ideas? I'm sure there are quite a few options I don't know about, happy to take any input on whats around

:D

So far bought a rear wheel, brake guard and something else, err don't remember what it was though, doh! \tried a 916 race seat unit on the bike I still had and it fits really well with the bracket work I made for the Ricambi Weiss road seat.

Going for the BB plastics fairing soonish - nearly finished spending money on the CB500 which has had new race shift rearsets and a new set of exhaust pipes this month.
