Gentle bump, looking for a Ducati entourage

Hi all,

I apologise for posting this here in Ducati Chat as well as in the Events, Rideouts and Meets section.
It's just that I'm getting a little nervous that there's less than 3 days to go to my mate's wedding on Saturday, and I've only had very few offers to join us on the ride. [ More info here ]

A 916 owner has generously helped the best man and bride arrange this surprise for the husband-to-be, and all we need now is some enthusiastic Ducati riders to accompany us on the ride to the venue. ALL DUCATIS WELCOME - in fact the more the merrier. It's obviously going to be a slow ride, and it shouldn't take more than an hour on Saturday morning from around 10:30am.

The East Yorkshire weather report is looking favourable (so far - fingers crossed), so if there's any chance you'd be able to join us in the entourage, I'd be really grateful if you'd let me know, and I'll PM my phone number and full details of the meeting place and time to you.

My post earlier this year, when the planning started, generated a lot of very positive responses, which I'd really like to encourage again to make this event quite memorable for my mates.

Thanks, and apologies again for the double post.

Keep bumping it up that way you will remind the last minute entries...I would have liked to join you but I'm missing a vital part and I can't get a replacement until next month:eek: but that's another story:rolleyes:

Yup, that's what I'm hoping to do - if the weather's good it'll be a nice ride-out with a difference.
Good luck sourcing your vital part.

Sorry, but I'm working this weekend......

That's a bugger - and for the first time in a couple of weeks the weather's looking good on the weekend. Bad luck.

I'm scheduled to work on the August bank holiday Monday this year, but I'm going to try wrangle out of it to try to get to Cadwell for the racing :D

Just in case

Hi all,

I've not had the response I was hoping for, but never mind - the important thing is that the groom is going to get the surprise of his life tomorrow when he leaves his house heading for the wedding venue, and finds his best man suggesting a short detour past the local pub. In the carpark he's going to find a stunning 916, for which he's been fully insured for a ride to the venue!

In case any of you think you might have a chance to pop over and join us for this very short ride, we'll be meeting at the Humber Bridge at 9:30am, getting across to the pub carkpark in Cottingham for 10am, and then we're taking the A164 to the A1079 south of Beverley, going around to the Dog Kennel roundabout, across the top of Beverley on the Molescroft bypass and then on to Tickton Grange. Even with the safe pootle we're expecting, I can't see the ride taking more than half an hour.

If I could get any Ducatis there, whether it's at the set-off point, on the ride, or just at the destination, it'll make for some great memories for my mate, and the (biker) photographer we've organised will hopefully do the moment justice.

For now it's only going to be about 4 of us, but more would be very welcome.

If there's the slightest chance you can join us tomorrow, please let me know and I'll PM you my contact details.

Cheers,

Mark

umm unfortunately I will be doing a Davie , and drinking my own body weight in alcohol on Saturday, cant see me going anywhere on Sunday

 umm im still not doing nigh on 500 mile round drip to Hull mind, I just cant think of any particularly good roads

Result!

Hi all,

I hope site cross-posts are permitted - I'd just like to mention that it all went exactly to plan yesterday, and rather than re-type it all, I've linked here to my posting on the Ducatisti forum.

The bottom line was that the weather was perfect, JK from the Ducatisti forum delivered his stunning 916 for the event, and the whole surprise went without a hitch.

I don't think it'll be too long before Nick, the groom, becomes a fellow Ducati owner

Cheers,

bambam

It's really good when an excellent idea goes according to plan :) him being on the best bike there probably made it all the better for him too!
