Hello from Merry old New England

I'm sort of ok after 8 and and bit years, my right leg is numb as all the nerves died off and i'm a bit of a cyborg with all the metal work in me. I can ride and that's the main thing! (y) Good luck with your recovery!!:)
I can only hope to get back to riding like you have, gives me some hope. I am an extremly active person normally and for the past 6+months, all I have been able to do is stay home. I have not ridden since August 2023 when I gently laid the 999 down at the track. I should have just kept riding that weekend(had I known it would be my last) but I have a rule that if I crash, I take the rest of the day to work it out in my mind and start fresh tge next day. This time the next day was taken up repairing an issue one of my tennants was having in their apartment(flat to my European fans) and I never got back on track. I am just hoping this next surgery will relieve some of the pain and give me back full use of my primary hand/arm

Just to maybe give you more hope, I was back riding my Ducati 900ie 4 months later and rode up to Northampton to see my cousin, a 200 mile round trip!!

The annual IMOC rally in Sturbridge, Ma, usually in September, is always worth a visit, not too far from Bahstun!

Plenty of bikes to drool over, knowledgeable owners to talk bollocks with, and burgers the size of your head.

Must be a full year's production on display!

I have lived in this area all my life and Sturbridge is the next town over, I am there literally every day and I had no idea about that meeting. I am going to have to do some research! Thank you for this

Hi and welcome.
I’m 2 miles from Stevenage as I write, small world.
Hello back to you, my wife's 2 beautiful sisters both live in Stevanage. I have only visited one time but we hope to return later this year or next year at the latest. A lot will depend on the success of the little business I am trying to get started since my shoulder issues keep me from my primary job and all the $$ that generates. So going forward I need to earn 20year experience money in a new field that I do not have 20 years experience

Maybe time to try something a bit more upright/comfortable riding position?
Something sedate like a Streetfighter V4S..

Hello everyone,
After a couple of years lurking in the background reading and learning from many of you on the other site (Mordor I believe) suddenly-- many of you disappeared. I searched for clues on the other site and finally I have found you all again. I have been riding my entire life, did a little play racing and a lot of track days and your old forum along with others was an incredible resource not to memtion - way more entertaining than Orange County Choppers could ever hope to achieve. The simple pettyness, the down right viciousness and the continual character degredation had made me finally join up and speak out. Please dont ever change and dont fight enough to make anyone leave. You each add just enough to make this forum better than any other forum I have sampled.

Since everone left the other site there is a certain lack of flair in thecommunictions on the other site and it a bit too sterile for me now. Well I guess enough on that for now and on with the introduction.

I am in my 50's, live close to Boston Mass, I have 2 older Ducatis and a BMW 310r which was bought for my wife but she does not like it so its for sale. I do all my own maintainance and have even made up a few prototype parts for certain projects on my bikes. I have had nearly every major brand of bike from Duc to Suzuki, Kawi, Cagiva, Aprillia, Yamaha, Honda, HD and Huquvarna and Ducati is my favorite by far. Both of my Ducati's. would be classified as Bitsa(I hope I have got that right) as they are far from stock and my 916 has a different motor now but I do still have the original. I currently cant ride, not only because its winter and close to 0' but I had shoulder surgery in May 2024 and all 5 procedures have since failed and I will be having full shoulder replacement in 2 weeks. I hope to continue to be entertained by this great forum as I recover and hopfully return to the track for late 2025 or 2026

Nice to meet you
Anthony

Welcome Anthony 👍

I am not sure anyone here unddrstands how I feel when each one of you says hello. Its just like oneday your favorite television series became real and all of the "stars of the show keep stopping by, I have been stuck home for nearly a year and have read so many interactions, fights and other events, just like following a tv series

Well we’ve had a ‘what animal? forum member thread’. Sounds like we need a ‘which soap opera character’ thread

I think we all know

For any oy you who may have watched my crash video, here is a picture of me just a few laps before that crash --i decided on the FILA livery for the rebuild and I am very happy with how the bike looks, runs and handles now. She is nearly a perfect track weapon for me.

This is a map of my favorite track , I have ever ridden. This is Whiskey Hill race track in Palmer Mass. Those of you who have watched my video might not have noticed that the start finish line is almost 200 feet below turn 9! this track is a great momemtum track with lots of elevation change and turn 9 is like a huge bowl with a 45 degree camber which make it difficult to walk on that part of the track as the angle is so steep

I love tracks with big elevation changes. Portimao is my all time favourite closely followed by Donington.

I'd love to spend more time on the track. Only been on three and not enough times to gain any proficiency eventhough it is my favorite place to ride how I like. Got into it way too late and can't afford repairs so I'm overly cautious. I'd need a smaller bike, 600 or V2, and a lot of streching. Never had a knee down, quite the opposite, I tuck my knees on lean which must look retarded af. Wish I'd gone full on back in my Buell days. Life happens.
