toying with the idea of dropping the oil and putting fresh in with new filter not sure yet.

just find it odd, that much has burned off so quick, be interested too see how much is in there.

You have got the bike level and upright and given the oil a chance to settle after running the engine?

Apologies in advance if this is stating the obvious but it does take much of an angle of lean or slope to make the oil level disappear from the window or fill in completely.

Ray.

Ill double check again, but it was upright and the engine was warm. maybe it takes nowt to drop from the sight glass on the test..

hmm, ill ask at the dealer going up there now to grab some oil and maybe a filter.

just me being a muppet, was just outside the sight glass, popped a dribble in, so normal useage, will drop the oil and replace tha filter not this w/e but next (skint)

Hi Rob, If i didn't have anyone to hold the bike vertical I would get a piece of wood underneath the sidestand so it was just off vertical, grab hold of the twistgrip with the front brake on and just pull it a little toward me and that difference would show in the sight glass as the difference between 'low' and the middle. This won't work if you have a flip up sidestand!:comp2:

or you could lean it against a wall, propped on the bar end bung - use a cloth if worried about the tiny scratch left.

no issue having a lookie...

jump on bike
jump off bike sight glass side.
grab front brake
grab arse end.
get doon on honkas and have a look.

job done..

:)
