Insurance for my soon to be delivered Monster +

I haven't sold my M1000Sie yet, so I need to keep that insured - just renewed with (broker) Swinton, company called Markerstudy, never heard of them. My new Monster Plus is due 5th July at M&P in Cardiff. Got to start looking for quotes. Ducati Insurance won't do an online quote for some reason, say I have to call them, even though the new model is listed on their database. Anybody done this recently to save me the arse of looking around? If I still have the old bike insured, can I use my no claims against the new policy? Or would I be better talking to Swinton to see if they will either cover both bikes, or cover the new one and let me keep the old one insured while I sell it?

I'm sure this must be a common dilemma, so I'm hoping for some advice, or at least some good piss taking.

I've just bought a Honda pansexual, I may have mentioned it elsewhere 🤔, I checked with my current insurers for a 2nd bike and they said they don't do it but would offer me £40 off for a laugh on a 2nd policy. Checked with the usual comparison sites and 2nd bike with zero claims comes in at about £130 compared with full no claims on current bike at about £85 so not a huge issue.

With car policies they normally gi e a weeks grace between buying and selling so ask about that first?

@wadesnj Best part of 2 weeks till your new bike arrives so plenty of time to sell the old Monster I would have thought. If you can put up with an Ebay auction you are almost guaranteed to sell it. Maybe try to sell it on here too ? I know there is a forum member who is interested in S2R1000s like mine, this may be close enough.

Yes, was thinking of putting it on here as well, will do that shortly. Not going to do eBay, full of timewasters and tossers, amongst all the scam listings. I would prefer a private sale to somebody who knows what they are buying. Good news is that it has new MOT, just had belt service and has new tyres, so a few boxes ticked, although cosmetically is is not A1 as I prefer to ride it rather than clean it.

Who underwrites Ducati Insurance? Are they really any better/cheaper that using a comparison site?
