The below will have some bearing on the increase as well as the scrotes who nick bikes and die too in Police chases

Exactly. There's a big difference between an idiot riding well beyond his ability and ploughing into a tree or an oncoming car and a skilled rider in full control and riding within the law who gets taken out by some arsehole texting or off their heads on weed and laughing gas.
Such cases cannot be categorised in the same way as they require very different responses from law enforcement and road safety legislators.
Unlicensed riders of unregistered e-bikes and thieves on mopeds shouldn't be classified as motorcyclists at all. They're criminals and if they die while committing a crime it should be recorded as a crime statistic not a road traffic accident.

^ The current statistics may be helpful to a government that doesn't like motorcycles but are not at all useful to us. If our insurance goes up because of these figures it will be more iniquitous. I think I've seen the figures broken down into age ranges but not styles of bikes.
My son and daughter had all the modern training and test and I think that has been very helpful to them. Do these new statistics show whether or not the dead had a licence?
