Hi all, after a ton of research, I’ve pulled the trigger and bought myself a 1993 900SS. Amazing condition, UK bike with only 15k miles. Fresh MOT today and some new belts from Ducati Alton ready to fit in the next couple of weeks.

Wayne's down that way and with a similar bike, he might know of some good independent ducati specialists.

Thank you Master 😂. The forks let the bike down a bit so I’m getting them sorted over the next few weeks after the belts are done and good old service

Thanks very much! Just got it back from the garage yesterday as it happens. New belts, plugs, oil, pads, brake and clutch fluids and a regulator rectifier. Now I just need a dry day to take it out for a ride!
Hello dude, i can highly recomend Doubletake in Southampton, they are twins that dress the same, fuckers!!
I have been using them for over 20 years and they are mint, worth a look. (y)

I have a 900ss ie and a 996 and your 900ss is tidy as fuck, love it!!:)

Thanks! I’d love a 996 but my pocket (or back) can’t stretch to it 😂. Took the SS out yesterday for its first real run since I bought it. This week I had the belts, plugs (they weren’t matching brands for some reason), oils filters brake pads, regulator rectifier done. It seemed to ride well, I think it’ll need a good few runs to settle it in as it’s been stood for a fair amount of time. It did seemingly leak brake fluid onto the rear hugger from the rear brake res but no idea why?? Here’s a pic from yesterday at Box Hill.

My 996 is off the road at the moment, long story, put it this way i've been through 2 years(almost) of hell.
I can see the brake fluid on the hugger, check the rubber pipe and take a look at the pipe clips, they rust out and under load there is no strength in them.
Take a look at the reservoir cap also, the rubber seal could of blown.
Welcome to Ducati world, early Ducati's never have a 5 minute job, i sometimes have to repair my 900ie before riding, all said and done when you finally sort it, big grins and stupid outbursts of laughing. (y)
