Nice to ride you - A short story from Italy

Buongiorno Ducati fam!

Greetings from Naples, Italy.
Although I do not currently own a Ducati, I'm Italian and believe it must be in the cards sooner or later :)

Born and bred in Italy, I moved to UK in 1999 at the age of 19. I'm a motorcycle photographer and writer by trade, shooting adventures, trips, events, and commercial work with motorcycles (fabioaffusophoto). Spending again in the last years a lot of time in Italy, I decided to join forces with a partner to organise motorcycle tours with classic bikes. We were called RIDE 70s and made tours all over Italy with a bunch of 70s classic Guzzis, Laverda, Morini, Kawa, etc...and even 2 Ducati Scramblers, a 350 and a 450. Beautiful machines, one yellow and one orange, although possibly lethal on the kickback :)
After a couple of glorious but hard years we stopped doing the trips with the classic bikes, as it became clear it was too much of a dream with those old ladies and not a clever business. The main problem was only older folks would understand, appreciate, and were able to ride them (once a guy even blew the pushrod of the Ducati 350 by downshifting instead of upshifting! As those babies have racing gears on the right hand side. We had to split open and redo engine of course).
Anyway, I then launched a new touring company with modern bikes this time, in fact collaborating with the official Ducati rental in Italy, so with lots of beautiful Ducatis available. The new company is called All Routes Italy. Check it out if you want to see some pretty pictures of bikes and places.

Now hopefully between work and pleasure I am a little bit closer to owning a Ducati!

Thanks for reading,
See you in the forum,
Fabio
