Quill Exhaust Systems...?

Anyone got any experience thoughts regarding Quill T3 Exhausts for the 749??

Cheers,

Dave.

TBH Dave the only replacement system that looks right on the 749 is Termignoni. Preferably full system with the 'banana' collector box which looks the nuts IMO. Leo Vinci do a reasonably ok system, as do Zard, but ultimately the styling starts to clash with the bike for me when I look closely. Is the Quill a twin silencer system? These can look a bit at odds with the back end of the bike:dunno: Don't forget too that The Termi's come with dedicated ECU to get the fuelling spot on. Only an opinion of course....

I've got a chance of a 749 just now which a guy called Ashley from Kilmarnock has just traded in. It's red with barcode decals - if anyone knows it??

It apparently looks the same as Termis, but it a Quill. Just waiting for photos.

I'm kinda assuming Quills are just a poor mans Termi... but if they're not rubbish.. then I could be tempted by this one!

Hi Dave

Quill is near to where i live & i have dealt with Jim in the past who owns it & also had my bike dynoed there.

Jim is,nt in that much these days & his son Chris who answers the phone is a right prick. I know the lads there & my mate has a system on his GSXR 1000. They are similar to Carbon can,Bos, Mivv, Blueflame, etc as they just make cans up from bits & adapt them to fit other bikes

I,ve got Zards on mine , Far better quality than termi & did,nt have stalling issues fitting it after ditching the Termi.
After all the Zard is built by the man who designed the one for the 999 WSB , which i why it looks so similar.
Ian @ Speedycom is the man to speak to if you want one of those, tell him i told you to ring.

Quill

I just sold my 749 with a quill on the back and the bar codes down the side through in edinburgh. The quill is pretty loud with the baffles out but it aint mapped to the bike. There are a few other bits on it. CRG levers, red clutch plate and collars with stainless springs and nuts, carbon hugger, key guard, exhaust guard, tinted screen and rear sets with reverse shifter. Give me a shout if you want any other info.

That'll be the one then. I was actually sitting on the 999 you've just bought when you called last weekend... :lol2:

cheers,

Dave.

:o sorry guys didn't mean to come across dissing anything non Termi.

Blackie does have a good point about quality, I had quite a few installation issues when I had Termi's fitted to my 749. Only sorted out by top efforts in customer service made by Ducati Leeds in getting the system replaced. Been a stunning improvement to the bike in terms of smoothness, throttle response and sound though.
