Removing swingarm bearings :grr:

I'm trying to get the needle roller bearings out of the swingarm on the laverda but so far my puny efforts with a hammer and drift have failed. Does anyone know how to get these swingarm bearings out?

Can use heat / cold ie: freeze spray from plumbing shop on the bearings, pre-heat the swing arm ?

ds is the sensible option . the bearings and the frame are different metals so should expand and contract at different rates, should come out ok.
from experience make sure any seals or other rubber plastic bits near bye are easily obtainable. a bucket of water and a well soaked mop also can be useful tools and make a lot less mess than a fire extinguisher

ive often been tempted to saw the bearings out of stuff but have always persuaded myself thats a bad idea and persisted with hammer n drift

We remove main bearings from crankcases on kart engines by judicious use of a propane heat gun. Use a small hammer and tap gently - they will come out. If you have the new bearings available and have cleaned everything up beforehand drop the new ones in immediately. No need to heat it up twice then .
