Rossi confirms he will be racing on aluminium frame at Aragon

Whilst i would obviously like to see Ducati more competitive at this level, it does say a lot about the culture and drive that they have to be so adventurous and pushing the envelope of bike design like this - I'm sure the design and race team thought the carbon fibre chassis would be a piece of breakthrough technology and I'm sure they believe the aluminium changes will work well also. Its the curse of development to try and fail and try again - Ducati don't have anywhere near the budgets of Honda and Yamaha and perhaps this year that is all to obvious but god loves a trier and Ducati's history is full of ideas that set them apart from everyone else.

I doubt it's as easy to just go out and build an alu chassis and it's job done. Check Moto2.....with identical engines it's mainly the chassis that makes the difference.
 
I just dont believe this stressed carbon/eng thing is the way to go just yet, if it was you could put money that honda would already have one running around. i would bet they have tryed it and shelfed it for just now. the guy who does the suter frames has came out about the costs of keeping the bloody things goin as well. if the deltabox works why not, the gp bike is fick all like any road bike anyway
