Sadly one of the riders in Sundays BSB races at Brands Hatch crashed in the first race. Brad Jones of the Iforce Lloyd & Jones BMW team crashed, coming down heavily and was knocked unconscious. Having been seen to at the scene and then taken to the medical suite, he was then airlifted to Kings College Hospital in London for treatment. He remained unconscious as he was taken away by helicopter.
His last update released from the team is that he was placed an induced coma for 24/48 hours after sustaining serious head, chest and pelvic injuries and is receiving all necessary treatment he requires.
One other sad event was from the in the European Talent Cup, a category of the FIM CEV Repsol which is an international championship for teenage riders. Hugo Millan, a 14-year-old Spanish rider, died on Sunday after he was involved in a serious collision in a junior championship race at the MotorLand Aragon in Spain. Sadly whilst being in the front third of the main pack, he crashed but was okay but was then hit by another bike who had nowhere else to go, as Hugo tried to get off the track.
I know we have a few track riders and in general it is a very safe place which makes these events stand out more . Stay safe people .
