Well, I spent a good 6 hours today getting the swing arm pivot out on my S4. Once I discovered the "cotter pins" and removed them thanks to a search in DUN, the pivot started to drift out. Then the 16mm socket I was using to drift the shaft out got bruised and refused to push the shaft out of the far side of the engine casing and did not want to come out the way it went in. After much umming and arring, I drifted the socket back out (bute force worked best) - despite much scoring of the swing arm bearing area. I then used a new drift and knocked it all the way through. phew. Am now too knac$erd to pull the engine out. A job for the weekend I think, then I can strip it and replace the timing belt shaft bearings.
Thank f£$% I dont have to do this for a living. I think I deserve a
