Such a shame, with your knowledge of bees I assumed you'd be up on all sorts of critters
I also learned I don't want to be a bee keeper. Still, was an interesting conversation, I did not know any of those things.

I know a little about ants (strictly from observation) if you're interested.

Did the beekeeper look like he could take on dozens of heavily armed baddies?

🤔, nah, he's your typical 50 something American male type. One must be OK getting stung, which occurs more often that I'd care to tolerate - multiple stings even. Not for me.

Me too, try to keep them away from nuclear explosions :-

I remember watching that when I was about 8 years old, I thought it was brilliant.
This was another old favourite, fantastic scene with a spider at the end.

Not all, I believe it's the deer tick, specifically the deer tick modified in Plum Island (which has since spread) if you want to go down the conspiracy rabbit hole.
How do you know so much about ticks? Are you familiar with swallows

TIL about bees from a beekeeper.

1. Males bees only live to provide sperm to the queen. Then Queen bee keeps the sperm until she is ready to lay eggs. The males die horrifically after mating with the queen. If they do not participate in mating they starve to death in the winter having been kicked out of the hive. That's pretty much all the male bees do.

Had a bit of a different bimble today.
Rode over to Glossop, had a cuppa, then tried to get lost, I ended up taking myself and my mate on his new bike down a bit of a lane, ended up here

I wasn’t really lost, that road came out in New Mills (home of the Swizzles factory), took a few random lanes and ended up taking my mate up the Goyt Valley.

I unearthed a book I’d forgotten about the other day and decided that my next few bimbles are going to be decided by it

Went to have a butchers at this

I came home via Flash Country Stores and a veggie sausage sarnie, I’ve got to load the van, I’m New Forest bound tomorrow for a cycling trip.

We have a special tick here in Ireland... Commonly known as a bleeding thick!! Often referred to as being a bit stupid... You would often hear people say things like that frank fella is a bit of a thick... Or that frank fella is thick as shit or FFS are you bleeding thick frank, Are they also in other countries or just a commoner garden Irish thick 🤔
