Got out of bed just after 7 and had a leisurely shower and breakfast. Jon got up, looked out of the window and then got back into bed so I set off alone just after 8.15.
Got to the circuit (phew that was a hard drive) at 8.20 and dumped my bike and my chair in a garage and wandered off to briefing. Nice chilled chat from Matt Llewellyn and we were ready to go just after 9.
With a whopping 25 people on track it was never gonna be a bad day even though it was very damp early on.
I did sighting laps and then first session in the wet, mostly to try and get rid of the mud form my tyres from loading the van at Cadwell. Circuit was very very slippy, but just enjoyed bimbling around minding my own business on my little Pirelli Diablos.
Sat out for a bit and had a cuppa - how relaxed is this!! Then they opened it up as open pitlane so off I went again. I am pretty sure i had the entire track to myself, didnt see another soul so just rode around trying to stick to the by now 70% dry line. The wind was really picking up and in some places an apex was not possible as you were being pushed wide.
Jumped in the van in my leathers at lunchtme and came home and had a nice bit of lunch and a quick catch up with Jon (doing some decorating ) then headed back to the circuit.
Open pit all afternoon so was heading out and doing about 8 - 10 laps at a time then back in, quick drink and off again. Track 95% dry now but the wind is very strong and lines are a bit entertaining in places but it's great fun and hardly anyone on track.
About 3ish there were some dark clouds looming in the distance and I was pretty weary and fuel was getting low so decided to call it a day so packed up van and headed home. Was all unloaded and having a brew by 4pm.
What a great end to the season on track. After my @@@@ty year I really enjoyed myself today and rode nice and gently and enjoyed a great circuit on a nice sunny day - perfect!!
