What the feck have you done today?

Went to check out that house on Saturday. We love it, it would be our playhouse til we died or something. Needs a 100K price drop though. We'll wait, and hope no one wants it as its too weird and not family friendly.

Right on all my fav roads, and the only noise pollution is from airplanes on their way to BWI and the occasional vehicle coming down the road.

There's half a forest in that ;)

We (me. the wife and the dog) went to Staly-Vegas today.

Now in the 1960's when the travelling fairs came to Rochdale, there was usually a "Black Pea Tent" serving mugs of hot black peas. You put salt, pepper and vinegar on them and they tasted great.

So today we pass a Pet shop in the centre, and advertised on the window was a sign "Black Peas Here"

I go in and buy a 1/2 kg bag for £1-60p, take them home and stick them in the wife's new "Slow Cooker" ( a Charity shop bargain).

4 hours later, they're ready, and after seasoning, I've got to say, I'm impressed.

They might be something that was only appreciated in Lancashire, but they seemed to disappear after 1970.

Holy fuck! That decking is a nightmare! Bet a few people have fallen victim to it over the years….
The house looks great though. I would be trying to get that decking all one level if it were me but…could be the thing that keeps the price down?
It's in the woods, so anything wood (untreated) is in poor condition. Any and all pathways and decking I'd replace with steel and paving stones or something the like. That would be my project. The point is, it's been let go since the owner passed a while ago, it is all overgrown now and in decay. The pics are a few years old.

The seller's not budging on price yet, hopefully no one who wants to turn it into an Air Bnb with available funds takes it. I want to restore/improve it in honor of the owner/designer. Inside it looks like a cabin on one side and modern/contemporary on the other. Perfect insanity for us.

We clicked/connected right away with it, and the stuff left behind. Insta activation of our creative minds (it's been a while). Problem is, no way I can afford it post retirement on a 30 yr mortgage. Shit, I'd have to work til 80 and I'm all ready to stop working for the man.

If this falls through, a small farm will do but we'll be kinda sad about it.

Yep, all I see on the surrounding area is potential as well. Good luck! Will make a great base for our north american ducati ride out!

What was the problem @WAYNE ?
As it turned out after a nights sleep and some thought two o-rings in the fuel pump assembly, Royal Enfield is new territory for me and it's the same as when i got my first Ducati, loads of research and youtube vids. Lesson learned and all that, glad it's back on the road, now weather it's time you got better you fucker!! :ROFLMAO:

Just drove the Exige to Auto Windscreens and they have ordered the wrong screen - they had an Elsie screen 🤷‍♂️ they are blaming Lotus for sending the wrong one 👀

Now I have to wait another week or two and the MOT is booked for the 11th

I've sent an eamail asking for my money back. I think that charging me for a repair, when the fault was theirs is wrong:

so . . . . .

"My hot water is all good now, but I think that I am due a refund. As the people who attended confirmed, the electrical connection for the Fischer Water Heater was never done properly. They explained that the water heater takes between 12 and 14 amps, with consumption increasing by a bit over time. So, a 13 amp fused spur was never going to be appropriate. They reckoned that the unit had been on the way out for a while, evidenced by all the burning damage to it (they left me the burnt fused spur unit as a remainder of bad workmanship) and they replaced it with a 15 to 30 amp switch (I think that it was) so the main 32 amp consumer unit fuse is my protection.

They said that it is not their general practice to fit such a fused spur that I was left with. So for some reason, I was singled out as an idiot, and given a unit wired up with the wrong fuse. Maybe, I was part of an experiment to see how long a 13 amp fuse would last before bursting into flames? I don’t know, but I am struggling to find a rational reason, when Fischer must know that their heaters can consume more than 13 amps, normally."

Now they say that there will be no refund. The electricity bodgeery is only guaranteed for a year and this kind of thing can just happen. I must lead a very charmed life if this is not a daily occurrence in my house with other things.

So, Fischer won't budge on their reluctance to do the right thing. Apparently, they believe this to be perfectly normal and one guy I spoke with, said this happens all the time in his house with just things like his television!

Strange that it doesn't happen to me and I live in Berkeley, a place with the dodgiest electricity supply in the World - including the Third World!
I could pursue it more, as I want to enjoy the remainder of my life, so fuck 'em!

The Leisure Centre warned me that their hot water is dodgy and said the swimming pool might be cold. In fact the pool temp was perfect and the showers that did work were fine.

A guy that I asked (politely!) to move, as I can't be very far from my locker hadn't been swimming, but just came in for a shower after using the gym. He explained his Polar watch to me. I've got one somewhere and it is shit, but his does everything. You need to wear a chest strap for the heart monitor, but it does everything else including steps, and average this and that. I fink that I will get one as my heart rate must go through the roof if I have to talk to anyone from Fischer!!!
