Escaped the nuthouse for Stratford upon Avon.

Now done with Google Maps for it is crap. You can get here just by A-road but it took me dog walking again.

Gonna try Waz when I get back to WiFi

Got used to ignoring it around home where I know but where I don't know Google is shite!

Trip back from Stratford upon Avon, guided by Google was equally shite. If Google Maps could speak, on any A-road, it would say,"This is crap. Let's find a nice B-road, and if that B-road was wide enough to have a dividing white line, then the challenge would be to find a narrower one".

You can see pacify "no motorways", but cannot specify "Shit farm tracks only", but that is the setting that I can't change!

Installed and tried Waze on the trip that I just did.

It seems equally B-road obsessed with again the only option is to avoid avoid Motorways, but not shitty little farm tracks that, by magic, it knows that I am a fan of.

Might look into getting the kit to plan and download sensible routes to my Tom-tom from my tablet.

It seems that navigation systems that choose the route for you, just go Pervy!

Think that I have found that Google will be ok if you don't take their favoured route. They get the timings wrong by assuming that you can hare down a single track farm track at 60 mph, whereas you would be lucky to average 20, whereas on a decent A-road, you can do 50-80. This simple fact eludes the fookwit programmers!

Discovered that although Google offers a choice of route, it then ignores your choice and itself and gives you an even shittier route not previously featured. To my mind, that makes it unusable, but does explain the shitholes that I was guided through. Gonna try the KTM app as that is already on my phone. Can't be worse than Google.

Actually, screw it. I am done wading through shit for a while, I'll try out my Tom-tom in the car when I I get back. It could be 100% wrong and still better than Google shit

Back home now.

The hotel in Worcester, I really rate. Got into Eggs Benedict for breakfast that I have never had before. I like it! The Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon is good and I hope to go back. The play about the Falkland War did attract an audience of a certain age, as we can all remember it!

And I didn't get a parking ticket! I could not find the disabled spaces, but saw a free spot right where I wanted to be. The consensus of opinion was that Stratford parking enforcement is hot, but technically, with a badge, I can park wherever the fook I like!..Anyway never got anything!

When I can be arsed, I will try out the Tom-Tom in the car. I used Google maps on my phone to come home and as usual, it was 100% wrong. Coming away from the hotel on a one way road, it freaked and told me to do a U-turn that was a) impossible and b) wrong. It has been wrong before locally, when I've driven to the Bath Lansdowne Park & Ride, when it suggested that I drive down the Cotswold Way. that is 100% wrong. It does other local tricks that I just ignore as I know what I am ding, but I have learnt (the hard way, that it talks shit and cannot be trusted.

It will get you to you destination going a stupid way, so you may think it fine, but having looked into it deeply, I know it to be shite. And what annoys me most it that you choose your favoured route from the choices given, and then it ignores you choice and takes you on a Tractor route.

Looking again at the route between Worcester and Stratford-upon-Avon, there is a very simple A-road route, but if you chooses that route, ir ignores your choice, and takes you the shit road route. In no way is that ever going to be acceptable! This is basic stuff. You should be able to take an option of favouring A-roads. That is simple. The fact that you don't have this option tells you everything that you need to know about this garbage!

When I got back to the hotel, last night, I had this Penne Pasta and more Madri sat out side by the River Seven. Can't ask for anything more!

What hotel were you in, I've stayed at the Swan's Nest Hotel hundreds of times on expenses, 2 to 3 times a week for a few years. They used to give us a free bottle of wine for every night we stayed 🍷

I dare to ask: have you fooked with alt routes in Google maps?

Waze is better for alternative routes depending how many Waze users are about.

I installed Waze to try. On first glance, it didn't impress. Seemed to have the same mistakes as Google but with the emphasis on paying more to see them.

Next step is to try my Tom-tom in the car to navigate to Bath Park & Ride. A simple enough task that defeats Google Maps. I will do the route on my computer and then download it. As the Tom-tom has no internet acces outside my house, then it won't try to override my route with shit that it just made up

If successful, then I will buy the car kit.
