I wouldn`t dream of suggesting any way of keeping hold of your own hard earned cash as opposed to handing it over to your Government for them to spend as wisely as I`m sure they spend every Euro they raise.
But if I was the sort to come up with a scheme to do just that I think I`d be inclined to ask a trusted friend or family member to buy the bike in the UK and then sell it on at a much lower price thereby drastically reducing the vat and duty value. I`m sure a finders fee would then swiftly follow to said friend or family member.
Yeah, it's a bummer for sure 🙁 . 10% customs duty then 23% VAT making a wopping 35.3% uplift on the landed price of the vehicle. Yes, landed price, so one has to include the transport costs - even if you do it yourself. As a consequence the price of 2nd hand vehicles has risen 20% in the past 12 months (since Brexit finally concluded and the covid years).

eg .

and 😱

With all of the taxes now in place between the UK and the EU I wonder how much extra money the Governments are receiving in duty and VAT ?

The 899??
No the 998 ;) I thought he'd commented on your post. I have a comment on one of his sale ads on Ebay from the other year.

Edit: I see he’s used some of my PowerPoint in his advert showing my actual prototype 🤪

This Pre Pod bike would have been close to a production bike when it left the factory, then turned into a track bike with different forks / engine and other bits. They sold a few of them to staff at the time.

Seen that one before - new tyres (been tracked lots perhaps) no mirrors, missing fairing fastener - it's all in the detail
