No doubt which is the most desirable, but leaving emotion out of it, bog standard, out of the crate which is faster on a track and on the road. I've dared to call into question the judgement of R owners on another forum, and some wanted to fight me .

Don’t worry, they might say they want a fight but the reality is they would likely suffer a seizure taking their tank tops off.

Never owned a R but I had a standard 1098 and a 1299, the 1299 was a pussy cat in comparison. So easy to ride and forgiving whereas the 1098 was the opposite.
God only knows what the R is like!
@Robarano has a Pani R and a 1098R so he can tell us, Exi has a few R’s as well.
Come to think of it, Exi is a bit of an R’s…

I would say the average rider would be quicker on the Pani due to the electronics/etc.
I, on the other hand would be just as slow on either…

Me too but I don’t pretend otherwise unlike some
In my defence I did a similar lap time at cadwell to Trevor Franklin he was a road tester for some magazine and I remember he went round on a zx7r ? And I did on srad about same time fuck knows what it was but I have only done 3 cadwell days and one was short circuit I think it was 1 min 50 from memory and the lap record is about half a day quicker but I honestly believe there was a fast lad inside me…. Right I’m off back t bar

Yep. All info is helpful.
Didn't they SuperStock the 1299 like the 1098R or was it too big

Power is similar with the full fat pipes fitted to the 1098R and I've seen media comparisons saying the trellis frame gives more confident (better) handling.
