Many CEOs of such charities take home 6 figure salaries.Yes - give it to a local cancer or heart charity, or a hospice, where it will do a lot more good for the people that need it.
I have a problem with those two charities coercing people into giving them their money under the guise that they're trying to find an end to it. Same with Diabetes UK. These charities have long track records of failure in what they claim to be doing.
The highest-paid charity CEO in the UK is currently Nick Moakes, the Chief Investment Officer at the Wellcome Trust, earning over £5 million a year. Previously, Steve Gray of Nuffield Health was the highest-paid, taking home around £935,000 in 2019. The Wellcome Trust is known for generous salaries, with 20 employees earning over £400,000 annually. Many CEOs of such charities take home 6 figure salaries.
That in itself is enough to put me right off them. Much better to find a local hospice or small charity and make a donation there.

It’s not just hi paid ceo
I used to travel through Liverpool airport weekly and at first I never noticed the people on the cancer charity stand
But after a while no matter which day or time I traveled it was the same 2 people
They were making a wage
That ain’t charity thats a business
I try to give only to those charities which publish their accounts, including staff and CEO pay and pension rights, and shows how much raised actually goes directly to the causes they support. There’s a reason the UK high streets have a big percentage of shops occupied by the big charities. Free stock (with estimated values for tax back from gov), mostly free staff, and reduced business rates. If people realised that 90+% of those donations went to fund the business of charity and not the purported purpose of it, I’m sure they’d find somewhere that would benefit more from it.

I wonder what that was

Spain admits solar power could be to blame for nationwide blackouts
REE said on Tuesday its preliminary assessment had ruled out cyberattack as the cause of the nationwide power outage that hit most of Spain and Portugal on Monday.www.dailymail.co.uk
I can`t help but wonder if this and other similar incidents that have or will happen are being orchestrated to allow a climbdown from the net zero pursuit as resistance is mounting and it may prove easier to move on to a new cash generating system ?![]()

Possibly why Bair has been wheeled out to slam net-zero as unworkable. To provide the government with an off-ramp and sack Milliband. We can but hope.I can`t help but wonder if this and other similar incidents that have or will happen are being orchestrated to allow a climbdown from the net zero pursuit as resistance is mounting and it may prove easier to move on to a new cash generating system ?
