Given that we are mostly of an age where our health and fitness usually starts to decline, I think we need a Health thread we can share any tips or experiences that we think could help the community.

I built myself a home gym and at 64 I'm probably in the best shape of my life since I gave up playing sport in my late thirties. I've just changed my workout from a fitness base to a body building workout for the winter.

We have a gym in the office, which is in the same building as my flat - I've only just started using it since I started carnivore (and then not often enough) and a bit more since starting teh boxing training.

I regret not using it before, but better late than never.

I have more discipline when I've got a target to aim for.

My nephew died suddenly last week aged 39.

He was a Telecom Engineer mostly working outside, and felt chest pains which he told a colleague was "like no other pain I've ever felt".

He was assisted to the local GP Surgery and was told to go to the Blackburn Hospital, but there was at least a 2 hour wait for an Ambulance - no Doctor was available to see him at the Surgery.

His colleague took him to A & E, and he was told it could take 4 hours to be seen.

He phoned his father (my Brother-in-Law) who went to the Hospital, and at his request, took him to his home (he lives alone).

He wasn't answering his phone the next morning, so his father went round and found him dead on the floor.

He has now had an Autopsy/Scan, and his parents told that he had heart disease and suffered a fatal heart attack.

He smoked since he was 16, didn't exercise and ate junk food, but wasn't overweight and didn't touch alcohol or drugs.

His funeral is in two weeks.

Jeez that’s no age, sorry for your loss…his dad must be in shock, and the rest of the family.
