Isle of Man TT pushes women to the forefront in 2026
The Isle of Man TT has announced a collaboration with Women Riders World Relay for its 2026 Legacy Lap.
Yep, it's everywhere, the rambling industry and skiing industry keep spouting we need more people of colour to participate (mainly through the bbc) - who exactly is stopping themThese kind of things annoy me. What's the point of it? Are there women who have the necessary requirements to ride, but who think 'if only women were allowed to ride, I'd have a go'?
I was listenting to Gary Player (golfer) being interviewed the other night, and he said that golf needs to be promoted more to black people. Why? The biggest star and the richest man in golf is black - if that's not enough to inspire them, what is? Do people in Kenya want to promote marathon running in Cheshire?
GOAT - please move to the Desmo's Fuck Off thread
I will treat the tt movie the same as the f1 movie.. ie I won't waste my time watching such shite ... I seen a couple of f1 clips on you tube as adverts and it was fucking cringe and you would think its the better bits in the advertsThey aren't racing as I understand from the article. It seems to be just one lap of the race course by those women taking part in the Women Riders World Relay and before racing begins. As the TT see it, it's to promote women in riding in the hope of getting more women riding and appreciating those who do.
Personally I think it's a good thing. It's not being done as a womans rights event, it's being done as a woman bikers thing. The more women we get involved then they also go on to promote motorcycling. It won't stop the TT , it will help promote motorcycling as more than just hells angels on the way to a bulldog bash and individually, might get our partners to understand why once you get the buzz, it can be quite addictive.
I dated a lady once who didn't understand when I told her that biking is such, that whatever challenges there are in our lives, just jumping on a bike and going out for a ride can often put things in perspective. She never truly understood until she passed her test and bought her own bike and then she understood.
Personally I'd be more worried about channing tatum doing a movie about the tt in the same vane as brad pitt in the f1 movie.
