So I picked this up today. Is a Cadet/Mountaineer motor circa 1964. It fitted nicely in the topbox of my mentalstrada. Where is the rest of it? Was hoping someone could help me with that!
I have a lead on a frame, rolling, poss with tank and guards, hard to tell as the current owner can't be arsed sorting thru all his junk to actually confirm. He has a shed full of stuff so not criticising, just that is the way it is at the moment. Will be an actual barn find as opposed to a bike that has been stored. I am hoping to visit him in feb on my way back from the south island trip we have planned

I Googled 'Cadet Mountaineer 1956' to see what they look like and this came up at the top of the page :ROFLMAO: so I still had no idea 🤷‍♂️

So I had to add Ducati to the search to find this:

Why does your engine wear a helmet?

Right, so I started. I struggled to get the flywheel off, LH thread, but eveything else came apart easy. There is some obvious damage to the output shaft in the gearbox and also the clutch basket teeth. The front sprocket is humourously fucked, and there is a piece of casting broken off the RHS crankcase. In other projects I have found the same bit is busted off. I made a point of keeping all the engine case screws in order as it may make things easier and found no detritus inside the gearbox leading me to think it has been opened up and cleaned out at some point. This was cos of a couple of bits of smashed teeth on the clutch basket, maybe…The entire gearbox is sweet as is the crank, piston and barrell.

Can anyone see a description 👀

Ducati 48 Cadet from 1968, 3 speed, road registered with V5, Tax and Mot exempt.
Beautiful original little bike, untouched with its first paint and lovely patina. Great little runner with lights and horn all correct and working. Payment via bank transfer or cash on collection (no PayPal please) viewing or questions welcome.

All I see is this:

And nothing else 🤷‍♂️

You need to see a plastic surgeon and get those eye bags removed, they're blocking your vision
Shoulda gone to Specsavers!……

Thanks for posting that Noobs. Although we get eBay here, we cant seem to search vehicles so that does not come up in any search I can do. That bike is very close to what I have and prob shares 95% of parts. That is also a moped which the 100 is not. Where the pedals go thru is just a kickstrt to the LHS on the 100 although the boss is cast into the crankcase for th pedal shaft on the RHS

This from the states

Wow, good find thanks Noobs! That is exactly what I have, 3 speed twist grip change. Although mine is a 100 cc, it was short lived as they went to 4 speed and foot change very quickly. The only difference is the barrelll and piston AFAIK.
See how it has 2 rear sprockets? You could, on the side of the road with the tools supplied, unbolt and jigger the sprockets about to change from one to the other and also remove or replace a section of 10 links of the chain. Nice, and not at all fiddly!

Sounds like a straight forward side of the road job!!! Are the instructions in Italian?
