Do we already have a quotations thread on here ?
.... I did a bit of a search and didn't find one .

Anyway , I'll kick off with this one from Churchill -

Lady Astor - " If you were my husband I'd poison your food "
Winston - " If you were my wife , I'd eat it "

For me , Mark Twain is the king of quotable sayings , with Oscar a close second .....:)

I do like a good Churchill quote. He and Lady Astor were continually sparring over the dinner table, she berating his debauched manners and he berating her primness. On another occasion she gave out to him for being drunk (again) and as a consequence being outlandishly outspoken.

LA “you sir are a drunk”

WC “and you Madam are ugly, but at least I will be sober in the morning”

🤣

Gee thanks guys ..... :)

I'll try to put this thread back on the rails , most likely in vain ..... ( no , not you Dox , nor WCP )

Bill Shankly

"Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude.
I can assure you it is much, much more important than that."

I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.

Not really a quote but, it is a true story 😉

"Today is the tomorrow you were worried about yesterday"

The world didn't end - so chill out.... 🍻
