View attachment 112099Made it. The iconic view of the Transfagarassan Highway Romania. The transalpina was done earlier. Feels like hotel prices have headed Northwards. I put it down to BMWankers and @Skitz shovelling the breakfast buffet into their mid day nose bag

Won't get to the Black Sea.They are both great roads. The Transalpina is the most scenic.
Will you get as far as the Black sea coast?
Croatian coast road is stunning but all 3 times I made it half way down before bailing to the completely deserted mountain roads towards medjegori (religious shrine) and back into Montenegro.. It's will be full of camper vans this time of year.. How far south are you heading?Won't get to the Black Sea.
these roads were on my bucket list as is the Croatiian coast road. I had a look at Bulgaria and Serbia for something of interest but nothing floated my boat. So I'm going to call in at Sarajevo and do a tour, sniper ally, and the war tunnel etc as I remember it being
a shit show back in the day.
Probably re familiarise my self with the Grossglockner on my way back.

Just like the NC500 then . I hope to leave Sarajevo cruise past Mostar and straight line it into Croatia and ride the coast road right up to Rijeka, feel that sea air. I'll save Split and Dubrovnik for when I have the wife with me. I might even have watched Game of Thrones by then as well.Croatian coast road is stunning but all 3 times I made it half way down before bailing to the completely deserted mountain roads towards medjegori (religious shrine) and back into Montenegro.. Mostar is a big name from the war and I took a look at it. It was a while ago now so it's a bit hazy, but I didn't find enough to spend a whole day there . There is that bridge but parking up looked a pain and I'm not one for walking round in my clobber in July heat. Maybe next time.If you're going to Sarajevo then you may want to do Mostar at the same time?
You are spot on about Mostar baking hot and a famous bridge enjoy TB Im not a bit jealous you bollocksJust like the NC500 then . TB, the versys does look quite tiddly when compared to the new 1300 adventureView attachment 112360I found a big digger in Bosnia. The roads have been , fantastic through wooded hills with plenty of inviting cafes.
I think the 1300 adventure is the modern equivalent of the e type, for overcompensating BMWankersTB, the versys does look quite tiddly when compared to the new 1300 adventure

Yup, that's China alright, they fund and build huge infrastructure projects all over the world, then a couple of years down the line, they ask for the capital to be repaid, knowing the country cannot afford it, so the do deals, buying land, mostly farm arable land or utilities, energy water you name it they'll have it. Even the UKAnother anecdote for you. Serbia has some very modern motorways integrated nicely into their trunk road system which takes you smoothly onto the new motorways. Judging by the pro China stickers on the bridges etc I'd say China have funded them. Thing is Garmin dont know about this because before you know it your little vehicle icon is in the middle of no where and your sat nav is having a meltdown cos it hasn't a fucking clue what's happening . So at that point your on your own.
