Thanks for that, got the "DB Killers" inserted, the full 70mm Termis on the 1098R are well above 105db. I'll give the AGM a miss if you don't mind, we're there for the track and the banter. Looking forward to meeting some new faces, some old faces, and no doubt some damn ugly faces :D:D
Intending to be there for 6.30/7pm and looking forward to the track walk at 7.30.

Didn't realise there was Ducati "Test Rides"... surely NOT.. Ducati don't allow people to whizzz around the TRACK - NO WAY :confused:

basically I did the right thing ordering WETS... Don't fcukin believe this.... :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

click on the link, then select the day Mon/Tue - TORRENTIAL rain forecast for Monday afternoon... trust me this 'kin trackday has cost me a FORTUNE. Currently standing at around £11,000 at the moment, had to buy a VAN, generator, track time obviously, hotels and a set of WETS - trust me when I say this, that bike WILL be going out. Rode plenty in the wet and it don't scare me

Here's ME! Two years ago in between playing on a 1098 and S4RS.

DUK are hopeful of bringing a Streetfighter but thats not been confirmed - theres a heavy penalty to pay for dropping a demo bike as I remember but it didnt stop almost every demo bike being out on every session from memory.

The penalty is you sign for the insurance excess of £500. Quite cheap actually when you drop a brand new bike as I did. I wouldn't have liked it to have been my own.

There might be... it was that very issue at the heart of the great DSC debate FWIR. Apparently nobody had been booked, someone took a judgement call and booked someone else at short notice (WITHOUT putting it to the committee) and all hell was let loose. I think.

" Holbeach tyres have confirmed that they will be in attendance for both days, they will have a range of tyres that they would normally take to a trackday. If however, you want something specific or DD tyres then you are advised to call Holbeach on 01406-423611 by Thursday 11th and they will bring the tyres to Cadwell for you."

They are good guys as I've seen them work in the past, presenting loose wheels is always the fastest option if there is a rush of riders looking for tyre changes.
 
The excess on the demo bikes went up to £1000 last year. AT £500 I took the view that it would cost me that to fix mine if I binned it so I went for it! Mind you while I was conscious that the excess was a grand, I still rode their bikes last year!!
 
Right we're off... leaving in an hour or, heading into Glasgow to pick up the Convoy... should be down for 5-5.30 and ready for the trackwalk at 7.30pm.

Bike, gear, generator, fuel, tyres, beer, food, BBQ, laptop, Top Gun, Days of Thunder, Silver Dream Racer Bluerays, awnings, lighting... hope it rains - we'll have a HOOT :D:D:D:D

Bringing wets as the weather does look very British for Monday. Tuesday looks a bit better. Wednesday is GLORIOUS...

you guys just let the best in life pass you by.... that was the best track day in the history of the universe EVER (Gordon's saying). I'm not for one minute saying Cadwell Park is better than Jerez, but I had more FUN at Cadwell and completely gelled with that track and bike (1098R)... I have never ridden so fast and came on MILES in track riding terms... an absolute HOOT.

Thanks to Martin, Gordon and Michael from MCN for the great company again, to DSC for organising the event :eek: great also to meet a few new faces from the forum, VeeTwin, Guido, Duncthediver, Freak and Lily... great to see Jon and Claire on the road to recovery. Special thanks to Michael N... I didn't think a Streetfighter could do that :eek::D need to get one of them.

Right must "Dash", three days work to do before 10am...

Cadwell park has to be my favourite track in the country to ride around, it really is a little gem.:)
Its a shame its such a pain to actually get there, the journey is usually worth it though.
 
Me, The Hairpin & Mr Squirrel

Day two, session one, lap one... track a bit damp so with slicks on was being ultra careful.... set off and flicked through the chicane and down into the hairpin. The 749 in front seemed to take a bizarre line... so I thought - mmmm, I'll just nick through here.... Then it became apparent WHY the erratic line. There he was, sitting in the middle of the track and looking MIGHTY P1SSED OFF, Mr Squirrel. Whilst I should have just flattened the b@stard rodent I instinctively pulled a load of brake... on slicks... on a damp corner. The front locked, and skidded, but old Dash immediately let go and recovered the situation whilst trying to kick the b@stard grey rodent who I swear had a Yamaha sticker on his tail.

Back in the pit I discover that said rodent had a total @rse collapse and just ran in circles whilst 3-5 other bikes try to avoid the git. I had expected some flat rat on lap two but the wee bugger must have made it....

So before you ask, how do I know it was MR Squirrel and not MRS Squirrel, well, it's easy... the boy had balls to stand on a track and take on a 1098R.... if it was MRS it would have stood at the edge, just outside the kitchen and just moaned :D:D:D:D

A grand couple of days. Good to see the regulars and some new faces.

If it wasn't the Squirrel on the exit of barn it was the kamikaze rabbits a few yards further on.

Nice to see a r(a)iding party from Scotlandshire:D

The dates are already set for next year, 21st/22nd June 2010.

Great coupla days once again.

Nice to see everyone again and meet up with a few new faces to names like Stuart and Gordon......Wish I'd been at the hairpin for the Squirrel moment. That would have made a great picture.

The only reason it was MR squirrel was he was either too scared to take a grip of the situation or probably too fecking lazy to get out of the way!

If it was indeed a Yamaha MRS Squirrel she would have just gonna for the ninja moves on yer girly arse and had you on the grass.

be thankful for small mercies ;)
