well, there was much talk about it, overpriced and blah, blah, but having now been there and done that - it was total value for money.
Here's a few pics, but the best ones will be the official photographer shots which we'll get in a few days. Team Scotland returns all safe and sound... well WE did, but not one D16RR crossed the border last night, don't worry NO DRAMA :D:D, let's just call it evolution ;):D

Thanks to Gordon, Peter, Scott, Jon (Freak) and Victor for the great company... what a curry by the way (on the night anyway :toilet:), the methane afterburner on Tuesday provided 10 extra horses :rolleyes: Thanks also to Jon for the trackwalk on Monday evening, that provided a wee insight to what awaited :eek:

Thanks to Ducati UK for 1) organising the event 2) bending the rules a bit ;) and we'll see you again next year for the TWO day event... to DG for getting "the bitch" fuelling issues sorted and to Hein Gericke for getting the UK's FIRST Stoner Rep helmet in time... well done lads :D:D:D

And just for the record, didn't see too much "wobbling" as one forum member put it, the vast majority of the Desmo's were being ridden fairly hard TBH

I must echo Stu's comments here.

For me, this was the best trackday I've done. Ever.

The circuit was fantastic. After the difficult time I had getting my head around Almeria, I expected the same problem with Donington. However, this was not to be the case. After our track walk on Monday night and a few reams of tips from Jon, I managed to get to grips with the circuit fairly quickly and had a ball of a time.

I really am a bit in awe of the place, but coupled with the great company and top banter for the event I don't think this one (for me) can be topped for a long time indeed.

Additionally, I must also offer my thanks to Jon for the knowledge he shared, it was priceless! Ducati UK, well done guys, it's the best TD I've ever taken part in. YPE Power in Edinburgh for the dyno work. And JHP for the bike pick up and delivery service along with some EVO work ;)

An awesome event, and I will return!!

Also good to see the other DuN members there, especially Karen, Yeti, Kenny and not forgetting Tranny Pete!! :lol2:
 
Just to add my thanks to the organisers at DUK, what an excellent event! Donington is AWESOME..... best day in the history of the universe to-date!

The banter was first class, great company and a fantastic curry - in England that's unheard of however I was proved wrong (again!).

I think it safe to say that everyone had a great time although there was one team member who chickened out of the 2 seater Desmo ride with the DRE guys - he shall remain nameless of course lest we embarres Pete (Piedro).

Thanks for the track walk Jon and to everyone for the effort made, all the D16's in one place was a sight to see!

Roll on Oulton in August!

That maybe so, but surely the "event" is the pilgrimage back to our spiritual home, none other than the mecca that is JEREZ. Wonder if fergie's going, that way we can have our very own WAILING WALL :D:D:D

What a day! Yes i did chicken out of the ride, however seeing Karen after her ride i had second thoughts. Not being in control of a bike doing 140+ did not sit well. I have now been renamed courtesy of Scott as Tranny Pete. I have accordingly order my pink bra and high heels. Have also ordered that purple Monster that was on display with stabilizers and a 50-cc engine. Good to meet Jon, Karen and of course Scott.
Big thanks to Gordon for the day and also Stuart and his wife for there great company. Indeed the Indian was excellent. :D:D:D

jeez Scott that looked moderately fast (D16RR with the Marlboro on the side)... must have been one of the rare occasions that I got the line out the hairpin right...:D

Mission for next time... learn to power wheelie... it's a must for Jerez, a black flag for a cool wheelie is worth it :D
 
Hello everyone,

I was the official photographer at the Desmo day, the discs are being shipped to Ducati in the morning, and they will distribute them to the riders as soon as they have them.

Probably! I used to shoot a lot of trackdays, but have scaled things down recently.

As for the misshap, I don't know how it was, they all look the same!!

Tranny Pete - well what can I say??? thanks for looking after me after the ride!!! It was amazing!! :eek: :eek: you missed on something really special there.

Lovely to finally meet the Scottish RR riders and also the English pit bitches!

I thought it was an absolutely brilliant day and well done Ducati UK and the guys from Italy for coming over :D

I've got loads of photos and video footage, just gonna have to work out how to put it on here?

Picman - got any of me on the 2 seater??? - the ones your showing was the girl who was before me - I think really it was her that made Pete cancel his slot, not me :lol2:

Hi, I caught about 5 people on the 2 seater, unfortunately it was impractical to get every rider on every lap, and the 2 seater often went out for 2 laps in-between sessions as I was moving around the circuit. I also had to stop shooting in the afternoon to process the images. There are over 70 shots in the 2 seater folder, so you might be, but I can't guarantee.

If you let me know some bike numbers, I can post a preview if I get chance later today,
