so who thinks ducati have got it wrong again????

I do , i think they were wrong when they dropped bayliss from the gp team and kept Capirossi(I'm a big fan of his, just think that ducati let their hearts rule their heads with this decision).
I now think that letting Stoner go and keeping Hayden, was a big mistake Hayden one his title in a year when others lost it as much as anything else, His honda was way better than anybody elses and his team mate pedrosa was still learning the ropes that year.
A team of Stoner and Rossi this year would have been a better bet. Stoner could have still run at the front like he usually does ( he will win it for Honda this year) while Rossi develops the bike so that he can win Titles with it. it would have gave Rossi a year with less pressure. I hope Rossi will do well this year and believe by the end of this year he may have a few race wins under his belt, but dont see him bringing any titles to ducati.

Not so much as getting it wrong but I will put money on the fact that next years 1000cc motogp bike is well under development with Bayliss & Rossi assisting.

So Ducati would be mad, and can't afford, to pour millions into further developing a bike that will be obsolete by next season. Anything Rossi can get out of this final season with this bike will be a bonus.

Honda can afford too and to an extent are buying a title to justify HRC's immense expenditure over the past few years with nothing to show for it.

IMO it's way to early to be saying that hiring Rossi is wrong. The guy isn't fully fit, and has been hired to develop a bike as well as to win races.

As GaryO says, Ducati will have their eye on next year already and there would be little point in blowing all their money on a bike soon to be obsolete.

TBH, Rossi did quite well today...
he finished the race upright and in a better position than he started! Nicky Hayden is an ex world champion with years of experience on this bike and a recovering Rossi finished 2 places in front of him.
 
to have completed the race in the way he did is a great confidence booster to Not only Rossi but to the team in general. I for one think that give him another two races with more time to recover from the shoulder injury and now with some real race data under the belt we will see a vast improvement.

As others have said next year is a whole new ball game and with teh rumours of bayliss helping to develop a new superbike you can guarentee this is development of what will become the next MOTOGP bike and a fresh start to teh ducati era in racing.

I would have liked to see stoner and rossi in the same team as I think Hayden's chicken has flown the coop. He has not done much in his time with ducati and should have been moved on.

Rossi at least stayed on the bike (With a miraculous save may I add)

I don't think Stoner was leaving for more money, and I doubt Ducati could have covered a payroll with Rossi and Stoner on it.

Plus, imagine the toys being thrown out of prams over who was the "number one" rider when it came to team orders, etc. :hissy::gayfight::hissy:
 
Yes, as he comes up to lap him !

I'm sick of hearing about Rossi's injury.

Plenty of riders have ridden hurt. Get over it.

To think Stoner was labelled a whinger !
 
Hayden

Hayden is not doing much and hasn't for some time. Is it to keep the American market onside - i dunno ?
Rossi's first GP on a Duke and beats Hayden.

Too early to speculate but i would think Jorge L or Stoner with Pedrosa sniffing around.

This has been a hot topic of discussion around me lately...

Honda haven't won the title in a good few years, despite putting considerable energies into both Pedrosa and the packaging of the RC212V (it is a teenie tiny machine)

The other manufacturers might ease (just a tiny amont) back on development, with energies going into the next generation of 1000cc machines; but Honda/HRC will certainly want to have some say in the history of the current 'era' (which they had a large say in creating rules in the first place!)
 
think next years bike will be a good one, with bayliss, rossi and jb working on it plus no input from whinger cause he may be quick but he cant develop a bike worth a s**t

I dont think so

"From a technical point of view, Jerez doesn’t seem to have been the most favorable track for Ducati, but I’ve always liked it a lot and we’ll definitely have to try and do better than we have until now"

I think Rossi is looking forward and not back we will all just have to wait and see what happens
