Kirkcaldy Sand Race

Awful, awful weather. What a shame as a decent amount of people had turned out on the off chance. Good to get some shelter under the club gazebo for a while but I think the right decision was taken to take it down before some ones bike got knocked over or damaged. Hope the KDMCC persevere for next year as the crowds and stands show that there is interest.

10 am and before the wind/rain started

Look how straight the flagpoles are!!! You wouldnt beleive it considering the wind later!
Can't believe we only lost one flag.
Was very nice of Mr Joe public to return it to us, wonder where he had retreived it? On the road up from Burntisland probably....

and Rab chatting up some brolly dolly....

Everything got wet, I had receipts to claim tax from in wallet and all I have is a soggy mess, everything soaked.....shame it would have been a great day even if the rain was only a shower or Two but not like that!

:rain:Two Saturdays in a row being drookit, aquaplaned along the city bypass, the only part that was still dry on arrival in East Linton was my feet!! Camera and phone now drying out in my fish tank,it's drier in there, now to dry all the gear out again, but still enjoyed the day oot in Fife!

well I did try myself, just felt like I was doing pull ups everytime the wind lifted the gazebo up and me with it.
So i moved onto holding a leg. That obviously didnt work after getting punted into the tables by one big gust.
Thank god Walter suggested someone switched places with me so i could "pack away" the table display items!

I didnt post this one earlier but the more Ive looked at it the more Ive hurt myself laughing...so just wanted to share the experience....sorry Rab.....

is he doing the 'oh i do like to be beside the seaside..' dance!? or something more... emmm inappropriate?!?! ;)

Gill picked up her new bike this morning it' orange by the way. Set off across the Tay Bridge heading for Kirkcaldy, almost got blown to Norway. Soaked by the time we reached St Andrews so cut across to Cupar and back home. The Fife Show was on in Cupar, cars and lorries sliding all over the place, what a shame for them. I see the weather in Kirkcaldy was as bad. Heading West tomorrow in search of the sun. May see you at the Welly in the morning. Will try and get some photographs of the two new bikes.:)

Good to pass the time with the crew at the stand, good work from Bob and everyone helping him, shame about the weather. It was no better on my ride back at lunchtime - a great day for budding submariners everywhere!

A few pics.
