On the 749 I bought the swanky FH020 kit from that germania and either it or the wires done a pretty good job of melting the connectors at the battery end.
Just to be safe I replaced the reg/rec and battery for a conventional one and put my spare generator in as well.

I think if I do the kit again I may just buy the connectors to make up my own leads, and a proper yamaha / ducati main dealer item or branded Shindengen FH020 just to be safe.

Any ideas @AirCon ?

The battery wasn't holding a charge after charging and not being used.

I ran the bike up for 10 mins, then put on charge after. Only for another 10 mins or so.

I noticed the smell, along with the charger reading 4v then 12v then back to 4v and so on.

The batt was red hot.
 
So you FUBARed it with the wrong charger..........rather than exciting the anti lithium bloke......

If it won bike of the month it would take fucking ages to get your fucking trophy, it's now the 25th of july and i'm still fucking waiting for mine and Ducatidad is still waiting, the service around here is fucking appauling;):ROFLMAO:!!
 
Removal of the 1198 and refitting of the RS engine after a coolant leak from the front head gasket. It runs and doesn't leak this time.

Many thanks to @Nelly for fitting a replacement cylinder and both head gaskets. It's worth the trip from Kent, twice, to know that it is in the right hands.

Pro Alloy again came up trumps, repairing a previous owners bodge of the RS oil cooler pipe fittings.

A replacement rear spring supplied by BG Motorsport was fitted and set for sag.

The airbox was also tidied up and previous holes filled in.

Not many pictures, due to not stopping to take any.

Untold thanks to @Andyb and his other half for the kind hospitality and his unwavering enthusiasm and help ❤

Also on the list, fairing fitting, airtubes that fit and some of the little snagging jobs that always seem to get put on the back burner.

Illusion Race paint and BSD Engineering for a dyno set up is also in the pipeline.
