The Panzers first TT

Watched the sidecars at Barregorrow, the Birchalls are unbeatable at the minute.
The Crowe brothers got a very popular 2nd, they’ll be challenging for wins in a few years.
This is the scene of my accident 12 years ago today, we were moving from Barregarrow to go up to the Mountain to watch the next race.
A French rider on a Mille came over the brow of the hill on the wrong side of the road and hit me head on.

The beauty of a Panzer is that you wouldn't notice anything like that now. You may think you swatted a fly, but that's about it.

I’m back home now, I was having trouble connecting to the internet for some reason so I’ll fill in a bit more now everything is working again.
Tuesday there was no racing so I popped down to watch a bit of the Ramsey Sprint, a good laugh.

By looking in that general direction it’s a good way of finding out if the Mountain Road is open as you can see bikes/cars going over,it was open when I left the Sprint but by the time I got up there it was closed!!!
I didn’t get a chance to go over the Mountain due to halfwits, 3 times I went only to find it closed.
Next stop was the pits to meet my Solicitor who is now a friend, I had to use the Coast road from Ramsey to Douglas.
It’s a cracking bit of road but is now speed limited and heavily policed, it used to be good fun.
No pictures unfortunately as it’s not a good place to stop, beautiful views and you go through Laxey which is famous for its Wheel.

Micky D working on his bike, Ben Birchall helping out Tim Reeves.
Years ago I got Michael’s autograph in my book and I was never sure if it was his real signature or he just did a squiggle to get rid of me.
I finally got the opportunity to ask for it again, he said “that is my real signature, look”
He signed it again and it’s identical!!

Wednesday was a race day but the forecast looked terrible.
Surprisingly it was ok so I made my way to the Conker Trees and watch the proceedings.
A few delays but there was a Solo and Sidecar practice lap followed by the Supertwin race.
Hicky and MD were going at it hammer and tongs for 2 laps, they were on a different level. Disaster for MD as his bike gave up, ruining what would have been an incredible finale.
Lee was 2nd and Paul Jordan 3rd, his first TT podium.
Awesome place to watch whichever side of the track you’re on.
I can’t remember what these pictures are to be honest, I really didn’t want to miss any of the action as it was my last race day.
Possibly Lee and Jamie Coward on the Twins.

The Supersport race was supposed to be on in the evening but a weather front came in and scuppered the plan, no more racing for me this year!
But I did see a couple of beautiful machines parked up.
In my opinion this is prettier than the SL’s.

The first SF I had seen.

This morning I was up at 0430 as I was on the 0730 crossing to Heysham on the Manannan.
We were delayed 45 minutes for some reason but an uneventful journey.
I rode straight back without stopping as I had to be home by 1400, I was 10 minutes late. It took me 3 hours and I have a horrible feeling I have been caught speeding on the A683 10 minutes from the port! We’ll see.
The Panzer at Ballaugh Bridge this morning about 0500, there were already bikes out heading for the Mountain.

Apologies to @Dox and @Markduc for not getting the chance to meet them. We’ll sort it next time, my trip was too short and I didn’t really get much time to do any exploring. I found a lovely house for sale, AC should buy this and we can all crash out there at TT time..

This morning I was up at 0430 as I was on the 0730 crossing to Heysham on the Manannan. We were delayed 45 minutes so they could reload the boat due to the weight of the panzers. Apparently a ferry wheeling across the Irish sea causes problems in the tea rooms onboard

Should think so , I’ve spent all week waving at every panzer owner I passed 🤣
