Shares - the pain of it!

I decided to buy some shares in KTM - just for a laugh! Not as easy as you think! The holding company is now called Pierer Mobility AG. When I tried to buy, my broker, AJ Bell, told me to f*ck off! They are now on the website, but when I tried to buy, the site told me to call, so I did! Apparentely, it is not quite finished, but should be today. They will probably lose me money, but the effort I go to to lose money is considerable :ROFLMAO: .

Whilst I was holidaying on hold with the phone call, I thought what about Ducati shares? I don't think that you can buy, as you have to buy into the parent company. If that is Audi, then I may not be able to bring myself to do that!

Then there is Yamaha! They do cool musical instrument, so they definitely qualify, but I can't bring myself to look into that today!

It is Volkswagen Group!

That doesn't offend me so much, so I will buy some!

I did just try to buy Yamaha shares and the web site again told me to ring. It seems that the minimum deal that I can do for Yamaha is £10,000. so feck that! I can buy a new Yamaha motorbike for less!

So it will just be Ducati and KTM, as I have bikes!

My trade for KTM got rejected! I have to do it over the phone when the Austrian Exchange is open. And it costs me more!

Buying motorbikes is much simpler than buying shares in motorbike companies!

My shares in Ducati aren't really in Ducati, but Volkswagen! Nothing is simple :devilish:

But more importantly did you actually laugh when you at attempted to buy KTM shares?
When I found out that you can't buy KTM shares, It was time to piss myself laughing. But this is what happens when you try to buy shares in foreign companies. Dunno if Triumph is any easier, but they are owned by another foreign company, I think.

It's all a bit crazy but as the GB is a lost cause with manufacturing then no big shock 😲

Most of the big nationals are terrible , quality is shocking, most builders on the big new build sites have zero pride or motivation , they don’t give a shit basically , Redrow is one of the few nationals which is better👍

Oh, I saw the thread title and thought you were asking us to share your pain.

Oh, hang on, we are already, on a daily basis, and we didn’t even get asked 🤣

ps. I’m only pulling your leg Perry 👍 are you coming to Ireland or not?
Dunno, at the minute.

Today, I went to Fowlers and my mate kept checking with me the day of the week. It was well busy and showing that anyone over fifty can't be assed to work!

Why work, when you can go look at motorbikes?

They are really suffering, now that they dumped Guzzi. So much so that the place is busy on a Wednesday, although I am sure Downend Scooters, with no parking, or cafe, or not many other makes of motorbikes, are selling Guzzis, as fast as Guzzi can make them - ha, ha, yeah right! Those management consultants certainly earned their bread for their advice of "going big" at Downend Scooter!

They had all of the bikes that I am interested in available to try. Lastly went to the Honda showroom, but I thought that I would not really be interested, but I was! The Honda 500 is easy to get on (with no modification) but a little heavy for me. I would go for it over the Yamaha MT07, and day of the week!

I trued the Yamaha MT07 first, but it just doesn't do it for me. Then the KTM 790 Duke that was good, but while he was writing it up, I asked if I could try a Duke 390 that they had in stock. That was it! It has the same engine as mine, but with a much easier pillion seat to get my leg over. Apparently, I am breaking the law with mine, as I've dumped the pillion footrests but not the pillion seat. Although I would argue that it is not really a seat - just a seat hump for the rider. I noticed that current, new rc390s are nowhere near as radical as mine in the pillion seat department. So I think that a KTM Duke 390 is best for me. I'll go for the better seat, plate to replace the pillion seat, and possibly bar-end mirrors, and the windshield, with sgsin dumping the pillion footrests.

The salesperson did not seem shocked that a) doing 100 mph in first gear was not a priority, or b) keeping it in the back of a van, so to only do track days, wasn't a priority, either!

In a moment of depression, I decided to look at my share values. Although, overall, it is a right shitshow, the Volswagen shares (Ducati) are up! However, I've decided to bale at buying KTM swhares. Buying in different markets is a pain that I don't wanna repeat, so I will just keep Volkswagen. That means that I have around £500 in cash in my share account, that was for KTM shares. Now that I've decided to only buy UK shares, what to buy?
Any good ideas to lose me money? Everything that I have has gone up and down faster than a .. you know the the rest.

Not doing so well today, but will get you 10% within 6 months..... and Robert's your father's brother, savvy?

RTZ looks shite:

I don't need to go on a roller-coaster! Beazley plc look a bit better. I'll watch them go up for a few days and then buy, sure in the knowledge that they will then sink like a stone!

So...did you do a deal?

Yes.

I agreed to buy a Duke 370 and I've put down a £500 deposit. I asked for some options and I am think ing about going for a factory pannier set but I haven't got a price yet.

You should have bartered for free ones before the deal was concluded, that's an accurate delivery date right down to the nearest minute 👀

Dunno where the date and time came from. There is no bartering. They had an allocation of four bikes this year and they have no idea if they will get any more. In the new World, you don't ask, but just get told! And since they know that they will sell out, they don't deal! Maybe if they have any left in October then, possibly, but I doubt that will happen! Moto Guzzi tried to barter, and they got told to feck off! As I am nowhere near as important as Moto Guzzi, what do you think that they would say to me?

ConocoPhillips, buy some shares :D. Biden has just approved major drilling project in remote part of Alaska called the willow project.

I'm out of the game and no longer interested. I asked for my balance to be paid buck to my account but nothing doing. It is illuminating that when you want to buy shares they only deal with you if you pay by debit card so they have your money immediately, or already have cash in the account. When you ask for the money back, it is a long, long, process that requires many cold towels to be employed on back off accountant's heads! Such a fair system! I would sell everything that I have with them, but that means taking a big loss, paying even more fees, and another long wait for any money. Electronic backing only works one way, and that is when it is in the company's interest, and never in your interests!

He'd have lost his stamp duty, dealing fees and 1% today..... you'd have never heard the end of it...

I've been quoted about £505 for the factory panniers, inner bags, and frame all fitted. For a soul bought up on Ducati prices, this seems a bargain, so I'll go for it. This will mean that I will have THREE tourers! Rude not to a bit of touring!

I was going to be on the beer now, but I noticed this bottle hanging around, that I bought a few weeks ago. No idea what I paid for it, but this is good stuff!
