Tempting Bikes For Me

This is one of my not particularly interesting threads!

I BEAR GRUDGES! and the KTM Duke 390 has grudged me with its shite satnav option. I have a TomTom that I will use, so no big deal but, as I said, I bear a grudge against KTM for shitting me about!

Nothing in the Ducati range sends me. I want light and small.

Any pointers?

BMW might be my best option.

You said you knew the sat-nav was crap as the salesman told you before you bought it.......... 👀

I had a Triumph Tiger 900 ‘steamer’ and I think I must have been when I bought it 🍺🥴. Sold it on quite quickly. The only other Triumph I’ve owned was a 675R Street triple. A perfectly capable bike but it had the bug eyes front which haven’t aged that well imho and also the finish was just as questionable as Ducati with flaking paint on various areas. At least with a Ducati it still looks pretty (in most cases)

WTF has satnav option to do with any bike selection?
Choose a bike, and fit any feckin satnav you like.
Nothing at all. I've bought a TomTom 550. The only thing is an objection to deliberate misleading bullshit, as the KTM ShiteDuke, that I have now, ,claims to be able to use Bluetooth. And that is just a lie. It is being lied to that I have a problem with!

For instance, with all of the farting about to try and get Bluetooth working to my bike, the effect has been that my car radio, which used to play music from my phone and call out the maps direction, no longer works, as I found out today going to the Bath Landown P & R. I got home and sitting outside in the car, it was all quickly sorted out. No manuals needed to be studied, no money paid out for the privilege. KTM have other ideas. They see your pain and want to compound it by making you pay for that pain. That is wot I have a problem with.

Amid all of the piss-taking (I can take it!) this Triumph Trident 660 looks a good bet. I have never owned a Triumph, before. Anyone ever had or tried one?

So, while it looks a good bet on paper, feedback on Triumphs here is not great. The Yamaha MT07 is seen as the main rival and I did test one years ago and was not overly impressed.

Wot about the Yam MT07? Any experience?

These are a cracking bike. Super reliable with one of the best engines ever fitted to a motorbike.
But you need to get used to salesmen stretching the truth Perry!…

At 200 Kg, it looks a bit heavy. When I am next in Fowlers, or Frasers, I will ask to have a sit on one.
The Mrs had one for 3 years and loved as it was low , light and easy to use. I don't know if it weighed 200kg as you quoted but it certainly felt like a lot less to me.
Don't just sit, have a test ride, a long one
