I saw one of these in the flesh yesterday. It looked great in Matt Grey it was the active model.

Coincidence I happened to see my first one today also 👀I thought it looked smaller than the last model 👀

Do they still have the wet cam belts that snap 👀

They went to wet cam belts about 2017 I think - my mate bought a 2016 because of the reputation of the newer ones. Another mate was going to get a Transit Custom camper about a year old and was also put off by the issue after researching on't tinternet.

2.0 engine ?
 
My T6 cam belt is scheduled to be changed every 4 years, I’ve had it from new and it’s at 45K. I had it changed as scheduled at 4 years and it’ll be done next year at 8 years.
To be on the safe side with the Transits just get the belts changed more frequently. Reading the above it states 10 years or 150K before they need changing, madness!

2020, belt not done as far as I know I book mine in every 15000 kms for a service way earlier than the lying stupid oil intervals of 25-30 kms it's going soon but my gut is told to do absolutely everything it needs 👀

Reading that thread I posted there was a recall regarding the belt, get it done just for peace of mind…..and pocket!
£7500 for a new engine!

Its probably done my garage does recalls as they come up I will check tomorrow but I trade into them so the keep the recalls up to date and would explain me not remember paying for it 👀👍
 
Mine is the 2.0l eco engine. My mechanic says oil change every year regardless of mileage and got to use the recommended oil.
My mate still has one of my old vans with the same engine and it’s done 100000 on the original belt with services on mileage.
He’s changing the belt at 120000 rather than the recommended 150000. 😬

All to do with emissions! I can’t believe they’ve used the same wet belt design in the new 2024 engine, maybe the problem has been solved now.
Ford had issues with the 1.0 eco boost wet belt engine as well.
As you say, plenty of oil changes is key. Apparently the belt shreds and blocks the oil ways.
If I was your friend I’d get the belt changed asap.

The oil is complete piss going into the engine so it doesn't last pissing time that 0w30 it's barely a step up on water 😆... My Ford dealer is a friend of a friend and told me day one please don't go off the oil change recommendations so I half the recommended mileage 👍
 
Wife has a Peugeot 208 with a wet belt system. The oil causes the rubber coating to come off the belt. It forms a jelly like substance that blocks the oil pick up and oil ways.
Peugeot issued a directive to change the cam belt at 60k instead of the 100+k
Wifey's car only done 54k when it started playing up
I did 3 or 4 oil changes and flushes at 1k intervals each time taking the sump off and washing out the pick up
Still need to get the belt changed though
 
Son In Law just bought a second hand but quite new 208 (2019) from a peugeot dealer that has the 1.2 puretech engine and I was suprised to see the full cambelt and kit had been changed at 45,000 miles due to the wet cambelt system.

What suprised me was just how widespread the 1.2 puretech was used not only across the peugeot range but their other makes of car too.
