My Ultimate Ducati !

Does that mean I can claim some kind of rebate for being mis-sold a limited edition then Nige?? :p

Thanks for the info' ;)

HAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAH

Not winding me up at all mate :finger:

Obviously Ducati responded to the demands of their customer base, so there was less demand for the 8R then - since it wasn't the best :p

From Ducati.com

This is how the 996R, an exclusive limited edition model (only 500), has come into being. Thanks to the synergistic union with the new propulsor, it is now one of the fastest twin cylinder bikes in production worldwide.

Total production figures

996R = 750
998R = 700

go debate it guys!! :D

on further investigation it transpires that....

996R Customer bikes were produced as follows:
500 (150 US Market + 350 rest of World) limited edition numbered
250 for racing globally ie WSBK privateers, BSB, AMA etc etc.

998R
500 as above, plus a further 200 for racing.

So to conclude they are both equally desirable :comp2:

Cheers

That's an interesting question Ian.

Soooooo many to choose from, for different reasons.

Hard to pick a favourite, but for sheer grin factor and fun on the road, ride it like ya stole it..........M620.

Sad but true :o

Cheers

who said anything about choice? Seriously good fun the M620, sadly overlooked by a lot of people. nothing quite like the buzz of seeing off a ZX6R or similar down a couple of local B roads. Their faces are pictures when they realise its a 620 :D

on the track it has to be a 749 though, any variant will do.

& yes i aggree that the 749 is a Tool on the track :)

i would really like an R but cant bring myself to tracking a 14k bike.

At the risk of starting his "debate" off again there is a 2003 998R on fleabay at £4500 which looks like a good buy if it is genuine.

If its the one in Italy onwned by an English Bloke that can't ride it anymore due to injury etc etc it's genuine. i was asked about it a couple of weeks ago.

cheers :)

And how about the 999R in Ayrshire on fleabay at fixed price of £2500?.......:rolleyes: better hurry as there is only a month left for this once in a lifetime opportunity!;)

IF it was sold (both bids $75k 2 days apart?) it will be a long time before the next one comes up for grabs. And I bet it makes more than $75k!:(

Yes he had put a bid on maybe just $75K and then upped it a few days later thinking someone might win it by putting the next increment bid in. So if it was going up in $100 increments he might have lost it for $100. So he might have thought to himself that he would be prepared to buy it for say $100k max and put that amount in, so hoping he would buy it for $75K but if somebody came in with 5 secs to go and put $80K in he would have still bought it for $80.100. Doing this also puts other bidders off thinking that you have put bids on a lot more than the bid showing and are prepared to pay a lot more for it.
