Looking good Colin - I have some of those wee O-rings for the fuel pipe QR's knocking about somewhere, will try and look them out for the masher. IIRC they could 'nick' quite easily and you got petrol p1shing everywhere when you turned on the ignition. Maybe it was just me being ham fisted with the connectors though.

they come off quite nicely, felt a clean release if ye ken whit I mean !
New belts on.........tensioning time :eek:....though Derek says we fret too much about the tension :D

Touch wood(nothing new there then ;)) the bike does look to have been looked after, backs up all the invoices i have. After the belts etc I'll drop the oil after what I've just said I'll probably find lovely wee shiney shavings in the gauze doodaa

:o Wish my 748 looked that good, couple of months ago i bought one on bubblegum ripoff tree and it's been a disaster so far,but it will give me something to do over the winter!

Hmmmmm....................

I've got a 140+ horse SPS motor in the garage that'd fit in there just braw!

A snip at 2k to you Col! You can pick it up with your discs sir .............. :D

Is that the 'keeper'?

Hopefully the two are :watchout: :flypig:

The SP will probably be on the road but its unproven,I'd rather donder aboot local on it for a few miles for it to break doon or have teething problems nearer rather than further away.

Belts tensioned, correctly I think,I've now 4 apps on my iphone finally got one that I was getting consistant readings to get the HZ set right, feckin tips of my thumb has worn away with all that strumming :D
Also checked with the allen key method,I used this guide to keep me right.

Real lumpy idle and true what all the SP reports say(and Stewart) very docile below 7.5k but once over that up to 11 +k its a bit lively !
Its pretty hard to get your heid round the fact it just wants to rev and rev, really takes concentration to keep it in the zone, knock it down a couple of cogs before the bend, watch the revs dancing around 9/10 k and power out ,go in with low revs and your f*cked !
With the motor soooo rev hungry ye can imagine the soundtrack .
It feels way way lighter than my 916,and is great chucking into the twisties, though as with every bike I buy it needs softened up a bit...just a wee geezer me.
I'm glad I put top quality oil in and was so pernickety with the belt tensions
Stuff to check out-the eprom, air filters and check out the suspension.

I honestly got off it saying What the F*ck :D

looking crackin mate...really pleased you enjoyed the first run too....lets hope the nice weather stays for a bit and you can get to use it plenty more this year!
