Its not really that usefull.
What difference is there to knowing the stopping distance? would that make you brake earlier / later?
Markers? It matters not a jot what they mark, but more that you know what the object is.
Lets face it. How many of us know the road signs we see every day? Not many I would think.
But you 'know' how to behave in most instances.
