Anyone have any experience of buying one of these and knows what I should be checking before parting with any cash?
 
I haven't seen one for years. They used to be very popular for race bikes in the 60's and 70's.
 
I just want to say a public “thank you “ to Jim Rodger for all his help and advice re the Aermacchi and also to Bob for suggesting that I contact him. I am now the proud owner of a 1972 Aermacchi 350 Ala d’Oro replica which I will pick up on Thursday. Photo to follow once I have it home.

I really don’t know too much about it’s history other than it was imported from Italy around 2016/17, the engine and gearbox were rebuilt and modified by Cleve Brightman and the guy who I bought it from acquired it in 2017 and never actually rode it. It has done one race at Cadwell Park, I think, since the rebuild and went to the Isle of Man to do a parade lap but the rider hurt his back and never rode it. It’s had quite a lot of money spent on it prior to me buying it, so will, hopefully, be reliable. I bought it to do the Festival of1000 Bikes at Mallory Park next year so will need to do a couple of track days to set it and me up!
