Totally agree about it being an awesome track Dunc - we were up there in mid Sept racing over a weekend (all weekend in the dry, coupled with sun most of the time). Felt like we were on holiday on the Friday test day when we sauntered across the track to clamber on the rocks at the seas edge in the warm sunshine 
Enough hook-ups in the almost level paddock at least for a TD, good cafe - and also loos etc. Standing on the pit wall you can see about 50%+ of the track.
As you say - it does 'eat' tyres when you are on it, tho this is most likely down to the surface being so new still compared with others which have years of tyre debris etc filling the mini holes in the tarmac.
Dont bother with doing the international circuit if it comes up for a TD - you would miss the best bit of the track - the corkscrew - as you'd leave the corkscrew in turn one of it to charge down a long straight to a hairpin - then charge straight back again to exit at the bottom of the corkscrew onto the start/finish line. (we only walked this, to see what it was like - and all of us were in agreement that)
That said - I dont think I'd like to be there when its really wet or blowing a gale tho

Couldn't agree more one of the best circuits in the uk. Loads of grip twisty technical and fantastic location. This one is a must :thumbs: :thumbs:
